#BigGovernment under the #BidenAdministration once again sets out to leverage its Awesome Power against #SmallBusiness by appearing to #Criminalize #NonCompete Agreements, an essential aspect for so many businesses to protect #IP (#IntellectualProperty) and other #Proprietary #Assets, as well as the "Sunk Cost" #Investment in #HumanCapital they make in Training & Development of Staff. #BigGovernment appears on a course to kill #Business in #America, with #FamilyOwned often (like my own) #VeteranOwned #SmallBusiness, things like #Criminalizing the use of #1099 #IndependentContractors (requiring they be made #Employees when neither want it!) and the $40,000/yr #MinimumWage that #GovNewsom and the #CaliforniaMarxists and #CaliforniaSocialists put in place to require of 16yr-old counterclerks at #McDonalds, and more. Just so harmful and repugnant!

Important breaking news for the world of #antitrust and #noncompetes. So now, when I give my frequent advice that non-competes are disfavored from a competition perspective, I can beef that up with a citation from an enforcement agency release with an eye-catching title. Much more on this to come…

Ever felt handcuffed by Non-Compete agreements? Big news that could change the game for employees nationwide: The Federal Trade Commission has announced a ban on both existing and future non-compete agreements. This landmark decision aims to dismantle a long-standing practice that many argue limits career mobility and stifles innovation. What does this mean for you? In essence, companies can no longer legally enforce non-compete clauses that prevent you from switching employers, joining competing businesses, or even starting your own company in the same field. This move is a significant win for employee freedom and career development. For too long, non-compete agreements have been a barrier for individuals seeking to advance their careers or pursue new opportunities. Take for example, the common scenario where someone working through a consulting firm wishes to join a client company directly. Previously, this might not have been possible or might have involved waiting out a lengthy non-compete period. Not anymore. If a company wants you not to compete they'll need to pay you to stay now. If you or someone you know has ever been affected by non-compete agreements, share this to raise awareness. You can't call it a free country and not let people change jobs. I'd love to hear your thoughts. #NonCompete #CareerFreedom #FTC #EmploymentLaw #Innovation #WorkplaceDynamics https://lnkd.in/es3cfKQF
