This is a short video about the static switch nodes in unreal engine materials. What are they? How do they work? And most importantly, how can we use them effectively? Discover how to use static switches effectively to optimize your materials. https://lnkd.in/dauw9VXt . #UnrealEngine #GameDevelopment #MaterialNodes #TechTalks

New video is out! https://lnkd.in/dCqMWCDb It's about making the world aligned nodes work in local space. Watch it and let me know what you think! #ue5 #unrealengine #materials

Though very useful in some cases, one of the downfalls of using the world aligned nodes is that if we rotate the mesh, it might start to look bad. Full tutorial: https://lnkd.in/dug3i7aU #ue5 #unrealengine #materials

Previously, adding snow on top of assets using materials wouldn't look that good. Mostly because the snow was like a layer of color. It didn't have any volume. But now, using nanite tessellation, it looks so much better. I've made a material function that adds snow on top of assets and has a plethora of parameters to control how it looks. Watch the show-case video here: https://lnkd.in/d_zCTQpC Get the function here: https://lnkd.in/dZ73rpbJ Or if you want to create it yourself, I recommend watching these videos: Nanite Tessellation: https://lnkd.in/d2Wv_QCb Height Lerp: https://lnkd.in/dWrNik3H Vertex Normal WS: https://lnkd.in/drxAgwdn #unrealengine #ue5 #snow #materials #environmentart

Hey everyone! New video is out. https://lnkd.in/dZuG29NC It's about the world aligned nodes in unreal engine materials, world aligned texture, and world aligned normal. Where and how to use them in our workflow, and some considerations when using them. They're great for texturing objects with no UVs. #ue5 #unrealengine #materials

I made a material in Unreal Engine that utilizes nanite tessellation and vertex painting with height blending, then used it to create this snowy path. Here's how I created the snowy path: https://lnkd.in/dw2hkPb9 The links to the material tutorials are in the description of the video. #ue5 #unrealengine
