Yesterday I accidentally pushed my almost-two-year-old off his bike. 😬 . . . For Christmas this year, we bought my son one of those little walking tricycles. (He'll be 2 next month.) He LOVES it. And now that the weather's getting nicer, he wants to be out on it all the time. Yesterday, he wanted me to push him up the sidewalk at a faster speed than his little legs can take him. I obliged, but at 18 weeks pregnant, it ain't easy stooping over to push a 25-pound toddler on a low-to-the-ground trike at a sustained pace. 🥵 So I did what any struggling mom might do. I gave him an extra hard push for some momentum to give myself a little break. Splat. Over he goes, slamming his little forehead into the sidewalk. I felt TERRIBLE. But even though there were tears, and sniffles, and a purple goose egg the size of a quarter on his little forehead that causes me to feel immense guilt every time I see it... ...I couldn't help but be impressed by his immediate desire to get back on the bike and try again. (No, he didn't want me to push him anymore. He just wanted to walk it himself. So.... problem solved?) Anyway, it just reminded me that we all try to take the easy way out sometimes — even though we know we maybe shouldn't. Especially when it comes to marketing. Whether it's being called out for posting a purely AI-generated fluff piece or sending an email newsletter riddled with typos, I want you to know it's okay. Get back on the marketing horse (trike) and try again. Next time, you'll do better. 😉 My son hasn't asked me to push him once today. He's happily tootled around on his own. 😂 ____________________________________________ Hey there, I’m Hillary 👋 Powerhouse marketing strategist and copywriter for financial services pros, and host of The Finance Marketing Podcast. Kids they don't what the word "give up" means...I have two little boys (5yo and almost 3yo) they always play soccer which sometimes involves falling and getting injured and when that happens I am like "Yep, they gonna put the ball away and go to their mom crying or just quit for today" Nope!!! they just get up and continue until they nail that kick...I'm not gonna start the story when one of them wants something from me...Hell doors will open until they get it🤣 Yeah, them giving up is not an option here!

Our middle kiddo... we just called it that day's "bonk". Every day, there was a bonk. Somewhere. Kids are super resilient, and mine have taught me so much! Our middle kiddo has also clawed her way back onto the bike / trike / couch / etc. WHILE still crying from having fallen off of said bike / trike / couch / etc. ----- Also, typos let me know a real person sent it :) Six fingers lets me know AI drew it 🤣🤣

What a cutie! 🫶🏻 Sometimes we forget how many times we've gotten back up and continued doing what we felt needed to be done. It's easy to get caught up in tasks and the "norm." But every once and a while, it's nice to stop and give yourself some praise for all the times you didn't let yourself stay down. ✨️

What a great connection. We're so quick to get back up and try again as kids, but somehow we slowly lose that drive as we get older. This is a great reminder to embrace the flops and keep on going! I totally tried to catch my toddler once when he was falling, but I ended up grabbing his leg and accelerating his fall. Big ol' goose egg for that smooth move too. 😳 I'm so glad they're resilient and forgive us!

It's got to be amazing watching your kids go through the school of hard knocks and keep getting up afterwards. There seem to be *so* many life lessons in parenting.

Thanks for sharing your mom moment! It's those little mishaps that remind us we're all human.

Awwww happens to the best of us mama! Whether it's metaphorical in our marketing, or our literal child (or niece, nephew, etc). I always get so nervous pushing kids on swings that they'll tip out!

What a brave little guy! It's so true that marketing is a cycle of testing, learning, and getting back up on that bike. 👏
