The Ultimate Display in 2024! This bulky HMD prototype from CREAL is handheld and allows to see multiple depth layers with a see-through display. In other words, you get a visual experience with “true” focal depth (a well-known challenge in see-through displays). Bravo to the team CREAL for pushing the boundaries of see-through displays! Ever bumped into an online connection randomly at a conference? I finally met the incredible Mia Shah-Dand in person last Friday at the Paris Conference on Digital and AI Ethics at Sciences Po! We connected years ago online over our passion for tech ethics. In our hyper-connected world, there's still nothing quite like connecting in person.

#AWE has historically been mostly about the use of #VR and #MR, perhaps mainly due to the shortage of accessible AR platforms. At AWE this year I'll be a part of a panel discussing what's beyond passthrough and the technologies to shape the future of #AR with Andrea Bravo, PhD, Martin Banks, Cathy Hackl and Tomas Sluka. I'm truly excited to to explore what's possible with a such a diverse group of experts! https://lnkd.in/g-rB-nez

Exciting news for the tech world! 🌐 Meta is opening up its Horizon platform to other headset manufacturers, such as Lenovo and ASUS. This strategic move is HUGE for the XR community. The great Skarredghost Antony Vitillo explains it with humor and expertise in the article below.
The big SHOCKING news of the day is that Meta has opened up its software ecosystem to other headset manufacturers: Lenovo and ASUS will build headsets based on the whole Meta Horizon platform, which is the Quest operating system, store, and social layer. This is a massive change in strategy for Meta, that a few days before Google I/O plays in anticipation and tries to become the Android of immersive realities before Google announces its Android XR operating system. And there is more: App Lab games will finally have a dedicated tab on the Meta Horizon store, becoming fully discoverable. We indie developers can rejoice. Read the full news and my long analysis on my blog. And of course, let me know what you think about it! #VirtualReality #Meta #Metaverse #MixedReality #technology
