Are you still seeding hardware to independent developers? I can share my experience. I seeded three AAEON Robot Kits 🤖 to evangelize our Intel Robotics SDK. https://lnkd.in/dxWcReSb Within almost a year there were three universities: Poznan Politechnika, Gdansk Politechnika, and Warsaw University of Technology. At the same time, I recently seeded to a local Gdansk maker community Robot Kitchen. Within half a year, unfortunately, university professors and students still are in the early stage of adapting robots to their needs and ramping up with them. Also, it requires accompanying, care, and motivation to make them active, and focused. One piece of my personal hardware LattePanda Delta 3 x86 Board that can run Intel Robotics SDK I shared with the local makers community. And that is what they created within a month! A step-by-step DIY robot project https://lnkd.in/dmUSNTeB 🍗 Of course, I have to introduce to them a Robotics SDK, and basically guided them through the documentation, and shared my experience, but still it is a great start! For now, I see that independent developers and makers are more effective if you want to deploy a new existing technology and see how it can be applied to real use cases. Learning of today. 📣 If you are looking for your existing software to integrate a novel approach or emerging technology, then without a university professor's background 👨🏫 👩🏫 and experience you won’t be able to achieve these goals. Makers 🤠 are not good at developing emerging technologies, but good at adapting them. On the other hand, universities are good at developing emerging technologies but have difficulties finding SCALABLE applications for them. Use both of the institutions wisely for your business. 👁

Tesla's FSD V12 is starting to roll out. Powered by Tesla's Dojo and new Nvidia training supercomputers that the company brought online earlier this year. A big difference is in the computing power. It will be doing what V11 did at a fraction of the compute power and it will advance quickly as they get better at collecting and curating video clips for training. Warren Buffet and Albert Einstein are big fans of compounding. The compounding acceleration of Tesla FSD data collection and training is unlike anything I've seen before. Exciting time in AI and I love that my Tesla FSD does 75%+ of my driving. The future is here. Can you see it? #ai

Have you heard about Tesla’s Dojo Supercomputer? 💻 It is making waves in the tech world. Designed from the ground up for AI machine learning, it's a game-changer for Tesla's self-driving efforts. There are the key features that are exciting all the tech nerds: 🤖 Custom-built infrastructure by Tesla. 🤖 Focused on video training from the vehicle fleet. 🤖 Replacing six GPU boxes with a single, cost-effective Dojo tile. 🤖 A single tray equals 3 to 4 fully-loaded supercomputer racks. 🤖 Dojo cabinets, powered by an innovative cooling and power system, are ready to revolutionise data centre infrastructure. Why Dojo? Tesla aims to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy by developing groundbreaking technology. Beyond self-driving, Dojo will be a versatile tool for various AI programs. Elon Musk envisions offering Dojo as a service, competing with giants like Amazon AWS. This reminds us that Tesla is not just an automaker; it's a tech powerhouse which is shaping the future. Tesla valuations are almost magical and absurd. "We believe that Dojo can add up to $500 billion to Tesla's enterprise value, expressed through a faster adoption rate in Mobility (robotaxi) and Network Services (SaaS)." That would be adding nearly half the valuation of Nvidia, the maker of the GPUs that power the current AI boom. Meta launched a more powerful supercomputer (RSC) a while back and this was actually meant to enhance AI which is directly used to generate ads (therefore make more money) and there was never any fanfare like this. Mind you, plenty of other companies develop supercomputers like this too (Google, Nvidia, IBM, HP, Fujitsu...etc). No one ever acts like it's worth hundreds of billions. Tesla is GameStop but for institutional investors

The largest organization worldwide has shifted from Electric Vehicles to Generation AI after 10 years of research starting in 2014. This shows how the market is always changing. Universities and institutions need to adapt quickly to teach students the right tech skills. They should update their curricula to match the fast-paced market and make sure students graduate with the skills they need. Some courses, however, haven’t changed for a long time, posing a challenge to keep up with what the job market needs.

What is Dojo? #ai #ai #ai 🖥 No, this is not a hall in which judo and other martial arts are practiced. Dojo is Tesla's new supercomputer concept that entered production in July and is powered by a new type of chips (D1) supposed to be up to 6 times more efficient than current NVIDIA A100 GPUs when it comes to computer vision. Today, the cost of training large models for computer vision is one of the main barrier to development, and such a move could save Tesla up to 6,5bn USD according to analysts. Tesla is already rumored to own more than 10,000 A100 GPU, making it the owner of the 5th largest supercomputer in the world. With this move, Tesla is affirming its tech company classification more than just car manufacturer. The advance of services such as full self driving (FSD) in a near future has the potential to shift the traditional business model of car ownership into a subscription based model. This hasn't come un-noticed by the markets. The adjacent applications around a Large Computer Vision Model (LCVM) might be the new ChatGPT Hype. https://lnkd.in/gqJrhyJA #technology #artificialintelligence
