This week something absolutely epic happened: Microsoft's legal department presented about how they are using Clearbrief and Microsoft Copilot for a massive pro bono project - which has also introduced the Legal team to the benefits of AI for their daily work. Adrián Palma gave an outstanding presentation yesterday at the Fordham University School of Law and NY Courts conference on the work that Microsoft's Legal department has accomplished with the nonprofit National Veterans Legal Services Program by using Clearbrief and CoPilot in tandem! Using this technology has shrunk what was previously 50 volunteer hours into around 3, expanding the ability of pro bono volunteers to take on an assignment and pursue meaningful relief for veterans. It's such an honor to be working with these organizations to bring AI to corporate legal departments: doing good while also helping to show lawyers the possibilities of this new technology. As Adrian put it: "[T]his has been a beautiful program opportunity for us. We've been able to engage diverse pro bono volunteers, e-discovery experts, individuals that we had never engaged with before. And our pro bono volunteers are not only helping scale access to justice for veterans, but they are also upskilling and learning about AI, too."
