The Q2 earnings report of CrowdStrike Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:CRWD) has prompted a flurry of analysis and speculation among industry experts. The cybersecurity firm's shares surged by nearly 10% following the release of its second-quarter results, which CrowdStrike Q2 Earnings Beat Expectations, Shares Soar 10%

Thales is buying Imperva from Thoma Bravo for $3.6 billion making this the largest purchase since Thales bought Gemalto in 2019. Naturally, some criticized Thales for paying too much for Imperva but that shortchanges the strategic importance of the purchase as Thales builds its cybersecurity portfolio. Gemalto has a big presence in secure transactions where strong authentication is needed, particularly in eBanking and eCommerce and Gemalto has a heavy roster of financial services clients. Imperva’s focus is in application security, data security, and network security, with a big presence in healthcare and financial services. Imperva will be folded into Thales’ Digital Identity and Security (DIS) division. This also provides Thoma Bravo with a fair amount of liquidity for other acquisitions. Last year, the firm picked up Sailpoint, Ping Identity and ForgeRock, and Thoma Bravo owned Sophos since 2020.
