Meet some of the women of MaloneBailey! In honor of International Women's Day this week, MaloneBailey wants to #InspireInclusion and highlight the women that make this firm as amazing as it is! Meet Carolina Uzcategui, MaloneBailey’s recruiter. • What made you want to pursue a career in recruiting? I was drawn to recruiting because I have a genuine passion for helping others, I thrive on daily interactions with people, and find fulfillment in overcoming challenges. • How do you believe your perspective as a woman has influenced your approach to recruiting? I believe my perspective as a woman has influenced my approach to recruiting in having a high level of empathy with a personal and approachable demeanor. This helps me understand my candidates’ motivations better, helps build long term and lasting relationships with both connections and candidates. • How do you see the role of women evolving in the field of recruitment? I see the role of women in the field of recruiting continuing to expand and change what we have known recruiting to be in the past.

💡 Did you know that women are about one-third more likely than men to form high-status connections via a third-party tie? Third-party ties serve as bridges, connecting individuals to a high-status network that might otherwise remain out of reach. 💼 Why are third-party ties especially beneficial for women? Because they are not mere connections; they are endorsements, character references, and amplifiers of capability. They carry the implicit approval and trust of the mutual contact. 🔍 Research suggests that women are better than men at mapping informal networks. Yet, they often do not leverage that skill to build career-enhancing networks. 👯 One strategy that women can explore is to think differently about these relationships: focus on goals that transcend professional advancement (the benefits that those ties will bring to a team) or view these ties not as means to an end (career promotion) but as an end itself (as authentic, trust-based relationships between people who care for and support each other). https://lnkd.in/gZCmiGS6

In honor of International Women's Day I thought I'd post an update on the apparent impact of the "Claire Kent" post from a couple weeks back. TLDR: It works. ✔ It absolutely works when you encourage women to apply for a job, and I have thoroughly enjoyed reviewing the applications from so many professional, qualified, and inspiring humans who might not have applied otherwise. But also? This isn't a one-and-done thing. We're trending back toward historical baseline already and even the peak was short of the 50%+ truth of the actual talent pool. We're gonna keep at it. And you should keep believing in yourself. (Original Claire Kent post linked in comments).

Did you know that sisterhood is an essential ingredient in the recipe for women's success in the workplace? Many large companies have organized affinity groups for women, providing a supportive community where women can share experiences, offer advice, and empower each other to succeed. If your organization has one, consider joining! Looking for external options? Check out these resources: 🌟 @Fairygodboss - an online career community for women offering job listings, peer-to-peer advice, and support. 🌟 @Ellevator - a private membership organization dedicated to enhancing the skills and networks of mid-level (manager through senior director) women of color. 🌟 @Chief - a private network organization for female senior executives whose mission is "to drive more women to the top—and keep them there.” Everywhere you look, women are building up and building out ways to support each other - gotta love that! #WomensHistoryMonth #Sisterhood #Networking #Community
