What a wild ride this last week has been. On June 12, Grimace thew the first pitch at Citi Field, and his life and McDonald's changed forever. The Grimace effect took the Internet by storm, a reaction for which we never could have planned. My team moved with agility to 1) flip our X profile to GrimaceXMets to acknowledge his effect for superstitious fans 2) within a single day, commemorate him on a billboard outside of Citi Field and 3) light the Empire State Building purple to honor Grimace, not just for being a beacon of hope for the New York Mets fanbase, but also to celebrate his birthday month…and what a month it has been! This is creative excellence and reactive social at its finest and could not have been possible without our partners.
