Youth Counselor

Summary

Perform the daily duties of the onsite children’s camp and recreation program.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensures that Planet Kid’s room and play areas are clean at all the times.
• Set up and execute activities in the recreation program.
• Register children for camp program, ensuring proper identification is presented and policies are followed.
• Promote recreation and camp programs internally and with hotel guests.
• Anticipate guest needs.
• Attend all appropriate training classes and departmental meetings.
• Adhere to end of shift report procedures.
• Adhere to all the opening and closing duties.
• Adhere to all cash handling policies.
• Attend daily pre shift/communication meeting
• Ensure all furniture is neatly arranged and clean.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations to perform job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.
  
  

Education / Experience

• High School diploma or general education degree.
• At least 1 year of experience with a children’s programming.
• Previous recreation experience preferred.

• Ability to lift from 25-80 pounds.
• Communication
• Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, effectively with guests, vendors and co-workers
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.
• Able to use computerized Micros system.
