Vice President, FP&A - Portfolio Companies

Position Purpose

The Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) at CIM Group will be responsible for working for portfolio companies, providing support and strategic partnership around financial planning and analysis and may include acting in a strategic planning role for a specific portfolio company. This role will report into CIM’s head of Corporate Development & FP&A and will work closely with our portfolio companies’ leaders along with others at CIM including the Investment team. This role will be highly involved with portfolio company strategic planning, transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, financial structuring and valuation advisory and, based on the needs of CIM’s portfolio companies, will be engaged to support.

Essential Functions

  • Perform detailed financial analysis including discounted cash flow models, comprehensive pro-forma merger model analysis and manage corporate financial models.
  • Lead presentations of internal financial reporting and analysis, including asset management reports to senior leadership team, investor relations, and finance and accounting.
  • Partner with the executive management team to facilitate strategic planning and analysis.
  • Provide transaction support as needed (e.g., review underwriting/term sheets, fulfill diligence requests, etc.).
  • Provide actionable insights to optimize operational efficiency and enhance profitability.
  • Evaluate potential acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
  • Builds, reviews, and presents ad-hoc reports and analyses for fundraising documents, investor requests, and senior management as needed

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial management, investment banking, strategy consulting corporate development, private equity and/or Big 4 transaction services.
  • Transaction execution and valuation experience (M&A) required.
  • Strategic planning experience preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite and Yardi forecasting preferred.
  • CFA, MBA preferred.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the energy and power & infrastructure or industrial sectors, trends, and regulations.
  • First hand experience in Private Equity and Venture Capital Space
  • Mastery of key investment metrics (IRR, ROI, etc.).
  • Complex financial modeling.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting principles

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required.

At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in Los Angeles is $205,000- $285,000.
