Description

This candidate will provide experience around Oracle Database Administration and SQL Server Database Administration and will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL and Oracle database systems. They will provide optimization and increase performance for DB integrations with API’s, ETL’s, etc. Support data modernization efforts and assist in inventory and stats for all operational DB to understand size, record counts, and segments of data. This candidate will actively monitor DBs to help identify performance issues before it becomes a bigger issue to customers. They will provide senior level guidance, recommendations and roadmaps of database solutions and integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Database Administration (DBA) experience
  • Must have a strong ETL background. Should be able to develop ETL processes.
  • Experienced in in BI reporting
  • Must be able to work Weekends and Shift Schedules
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization of ETL processes for efficient data loading
  • Experience with Linux, Oracle, VMware, and Windows
  • Minimum of 8 years database design including: capacity planning, configuration, migration, performance monitoring, tuning, security, data recovery and troubleshooting
  • Proven experience ensuring compliance with all regulations, upgrades, optimizing the performance of all databases, and supporting future planning
  • 2 Years experience with Jira
  • 3-4 Years experience in JBOSS
  • Ability to perform system administration and integration of system fixes, updates and enhancements
  • Provide guidance, recommendations and roadmaps of solutions to senior level management
  • Create and maintain documentation related to ETL processes, data mappings, and transformations


Certifications (Required)

  • Oracle DB Certification
  • ITIL Certified


Primary Responsibilities

  • Install of Oracle Databases (19c)
  • Serve as SME on Oracle Databases
  • Expert in Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL, particularly in the ETL processes using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations, upgrade and optimize the performance of Oracle Databases and support future planning efforts
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze complex business processes, and translate them into logical technical solutions
  • Maintain production databases, which includes MS SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
  • Optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure data integrity, reliability, and scalability
  • Monitor database efficiency
  • Ensure space availability
  • Develop, test and manage backup and recovery plans
  • Sustain the security and integrity of data
  • Support application deployments
  • Monitor performance of DB to provide fast query responses to users
  • Ensure that storage , archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly (RMAN,
  • scheduled export jobs)
  • Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
  • Perform DDL, DML, import and export of data (exp/expdp/imp/impdp)
  • Create/modify PL/SQL packages and procedures
  • Create shell scripts to execute PL/SQL commands that send dumps and logs and schedule them in cron
  • Perform database backup and recovery, DB account creation, modification, deletion, DB shutdown and restart, DDL, DML commands for Oracle.
  • Perform database upgrade and migration of SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres and MySQL DBs

  • The salary for this position is $85,000 - $120,000 annually
