The HTC Creative Labs team is seeking a Senior 3D Designer to join our rapidly growing team of top-tier talent who are passionate and committed to the future of AR/VR/XR and understanding customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a background in 3D design (Architecture / Industrial Design), and must be a strong creative leader with a history of taking ideas from sketch to execution. Also someone who stays on top of creative trends, and has a passion for creative software and storytelling. Outstanding design, modeling, and texturing skills and a passion for creating innovative work is also a must.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to an evolving design culture and process at Creative Labs and throughout HTC's worldwide design organization.
  • Utilize conceptual thinking skills in collaboration with designers from all disciplines to create innovative VR user experiences.
  • Collaborate and lead 3D, visual, and interaction designers to help illustrate scenarios that communicate design concepts to team members, product groups, and executives.
  • Help translate concept art into immersive 3D experiences.
  • Partner with strategy peers to ensure all solutions are insight-driven and with functional peers to ensure work is delivered on time.
  • Collaborate and consult with outside teams across HTC to deliver HTC's vision of a constantly evolving hardware and software ecosystem.
  • Relentlessly keep pace with new and emerging digital technologies and trends that inspire Creative Labs to explore new possibilities.
  • Work with Creative Labs leadership in delivering provoking presentations that are both visually stunning and strategic.
  • Initiate new workflows and optimize existing processes.
  • Help to inspire, excite, and motivate other departments.



Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Abilities)

  • 8+ years of work experience in Architecture or Industrial Design.
  • Experience providing direction on visual, creative, technical execution, and strategy for interactive or AR/VR-driven experiences.
  • Experience with UX design.
  • Proficient in Keyshot or other 3D rendering software.
  • Proficient in Rhino, Grasshopper, or other CAD software.
  • Experience with Figma (for ideation and brainstorming).
  • Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premier, After Effects) for video editing and presentation.
  • Have an eye for clean, visually impactful design that is current and fresh.
  • A command of design fundamentals, a nimble mind, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse team environment are key to success.
  • Great visual, verbal, and written communication skills to ensure great presentations and a smooth working process with our global design team and vendor network.
  • Strong storytelling ability leveraging user/market research, user journeys, and storyboards.
  • Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a proactive nature.
  • Ability to work in a team and to integrate director feedback quickly.



Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in an Agency, Creative, or B2B environment.
  • UX/UI skills for AR/VR.
  • Experience with Unreal 4/5, Unity 3D, or equivalent engine exposure.
  • Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, and Houdini (the team uses a wide array of 3D packages that usually culminate in Unity).
  • Experience with asset pipeline, integrating 3D models, textures, etc., into Unity 3D.

Working Conditions

  • Primary work location is indoors.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and long periods of detailed work with VR equipment.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

At the time of posting, HTC's estimated annual base salary for this position is $125,000 – $145,000 USD. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including candidate skills, qualifications, experience, business needs, and geographic location. This position is also eligible for participation in our discretionary bonus programs.
