Position Overview:

The Clinical Health Services (CHS) Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and supervision of the Scheduling Team. The Scheduling Supervisor will oversee the duties of the scheduling specialist to ensure the scheduling of the mobile teams; immunization services, mobile health clinic, and special events. The Scheduling Supervisor will work with various community organization to support the development of new partners to identify the needs of Harris County residents. Ensuring that different population groups receive mobile health services throughout the community in Harris County. This position supports the Harris County Public Health Department (HCPH), and reports to the Clinical Health Services (CHS) Program Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily activities of the Scheduling Specialist, providing direction and supervision to team members.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Harris County partners such as Harris County Precincts, School Districts, Colleges, Houses of Worship, Shelters, and private businesses.
  • Ensure mobile health services are scheduled in the weekly rotation, focusing on equitable access and high priority communities. Utilizing data to help support the creation of new partners.
  • Works directly with the Program Manager, HR, and divisional leadership to assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and management of staff including contractors and volunteers.
  • Maintain open communication internally, with Outreach Team, Access-team, Operations Managers, and other HCPH divisions/offices as needed about any changes and updates that directly affect scheduling.
  • Maintain schedule and data metrics for mobile health services on events and locations served.
  • Other duties as assigned, including site lead coverage at vaccine/specimen collection sites and special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Public Administration, Emergency Management, Planning, Public Health or related field of study.


Licensure:

  • Valid TX Driver's License


Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in public health, healthcare, or emergency management with one (1) of those years in a supervisory position.

General Information

Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:

  • Full-Time | Regular
  • Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Other days and hours as necessary.
  • Weekend or after hours may be required if needed to attend special events.


Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • On occasion, this job may require off-site visits to locations inside of Harris County and/or working off site at a field site, which may be outdoors.


Physical Demands:

  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
  • At times, this role may be required to work at a site which could require working in hot or cold outdoor temperatures.
