Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the DevOPS Manager, the Report Developer position is part of the Operations & Technology Services Department and will work to provide accurate and timely delivery of reporting requests and related services. This position will tests applications and assist in the implementation of new systems or updates to existing systems while working with cross functional teams. The Report Developer will also plan, develop, and report analyses of various efforts, including population health, operational excellence, and health equity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with data architects, team members and project managers regarding the full life cycle of data analytics to include requirements gathering, analysis design, data collection and cleaning, performing analysis, and reporting findings.
  • Conducts research, analyzes data, and effectively communicates strategic data-driven recommendations
  • Reports analytical findings and key takeaways using a clear and systematic approach and develops well-crafted presentations as needed
  • Performs basic data management, data cleaning, data analysis, and data visualization using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, and PowerBI, including performing ad hoc requests.
  • Responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing recommendations to inform future data analytics project reporting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to fully understand their business problem and design solutions to meet their needs that are aligned with agency requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field.


Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience working on data projects, including data query, cleaning, management, and analysis.
  • Three (3) years of experience using data management tools like SQL, SSIS, SSMS.
  • Three (3) years of experience using data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, ArcGIS.
  • Three (3) years of experience packaging data analytics projects to effectively communicate recommendations for action.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to create and maintain reports using specialized technical report writing software.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess the ability to handle a multitask environment with great skill and accuracy.
  • Experience in business reporting and visualization (PowerBI, SSRS, etc).
  • Experience in database languages (TSQL).
  • Experience in database systems (MSSQL, CosmosDB).
  • Experience in advanced Excel functions.
  • Experience in scripting languages (Python, R).
  • Experience in reconciling query results against source data.
  • Experience in gathering requirements from end users.

General Information

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

  • This is a Full Time | Grant-Funded position
  • Monday - Friday; 8 am - 5 pm.
  • Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department or tasks requirements.


Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and etc.


Physical Demands:

  • Some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
