Painter full time

Job Description

In this task, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing surfaces by cleaning , sanding and /or scraping to remove old paint.
  • Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces
  • Providing touch ups and projects may require
  • Handling planning and prep work in an efficient manner
  • Preparing the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes
  • Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project
  • Calculating the amount of materials and time required for said project
  • Removing fixtures such as door knobs and light switch covers
  • Taping off areas as needed
  • Cleaning up supplies + work area
  • Replacing fixtures when project is complete
  • Communicating with on-site management company to ensure projects are completed to satisfaction
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and community business
  • Notify supervisor of pending absence or tardiness within the time frame described in the personnel handbook.
  • Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in residents' and community needs
  • Follow established regulations and any report violations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Board or Property Manager

Must be organized with an attention to detail, able to work independently, have strong communication skills, be proficient with all basic work tools of the job.

Required education:

High school or equivalent

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift & carry heavy equipment (including painting tools and heavy buckets)
  • Ability to climb ladders and/or operate a lift
  • Able to work in different weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong ability to follow directions
  • Physical dexterity
  • Able to adapt to changes in assigned work, policy, methods, operations, etc.
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record
  • Clear background
  • Tools of the trade
  • Comprehend and converse in English
  • 4 years of maintenance experience
