Our Interview Process:

At Palmetto Renovations of Columbia, Inc. we believe in finding the best talent and ensuring they're the right fit for our team. Our comprehensive interview process is designed to not only evaluate your skills and experience but also give you a taste of what it's like to work with us. Here's a breakdown of our process:

  • Initial Phone Screening: We start with a casual conversation to discuss the basic details of the position and to introduce you to our company culture. During this call, we'll also explain our interview process and answer any questions you may have
  • In-Person Interview with HR Manager: You'll have the opportunity to meet with our HR Manager to further discuss the position, your qualifications, and how you align with our company values
  • Background Check and Drug Test: To ensure the safety and security of our team and clients, we conduct a thorough background check and drug test as part of our hiring process
  • Working Interview:

Part A: Day 1-Day 2: During the first phase of our working interview, you'll complete the First Sun EAP training. This comprehensive program familiarizes you with industry-wide professionalism standards through training guides, videos, and knowledge tests.

Part B: Day 3-Day 5: In the second phase, you'll engage in on-the-job training specific to the position you're applying for. For example, if you're interviewing for a Sales Support Specialist role, your duties may include:

  • Answering phones and recording messages
  • Receiving incoming calls from potential customers and documenting information in our CRM software
  • Facilitating communication within the Sales Department
  • Creating and distributing marketing materials
  • Maintaining accurate records of sales activities

Depending on your performance and the complexity of the role, this phase may be extended by another 5 working days. You'll be compensated at a rate of $12.50/hour for this week-long working interview. At the end of this stage, you'll have the opportunity to negotiate your starting salary with upper management as you transition into a full-time employee.

Position Overview: The Commercial/Residential Painter will be responsible for providing top-quality painting services for both commercial and residential projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent painting skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a variety of environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a professional demeanor, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and applying primer as necessary
  • Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results and ensure color consistency
  • Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes to various surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, and trim
  • Use brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to apply finishes, ensuring even coverage and smooth finish
  • Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths and masking tape to prevent damage and ensure clean lines
  • Repair and patch minor drywall and plaster imperfections to create a smooth painting surface
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure a clean and organized work area
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to understand project requirements and deliver exceptional service
  • Perform touch-ups and final inspections to ensure high-quality workmanship
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support project completion and client satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional painting experience in commercial and/or residential settings
  • Proficiency in using painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers
  • Knowledge of various painting techniques and surface preparation methods
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
