As a Materials Planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling the materials required to execute the business. Works with the sales and commercial team, region personnel, AMO and supply chain to translate the demand (forecasts, sales orders, planned orders) across multiple time horizons into physical orders and ensures they are delivered to meet the customer requirements.
As a Materials Planner, you will be responsible for:
Working with the region sales and operations to create the regional forecast (12-18 mo) and global forecasts
Responsible for converting customer demand/requirements in SAP to production signals through a production plan. This plan must be aligned to plant specific goals such as On Time Delivery, Revenue, Productivity, and Past Due.
Analyzing incoming demand: identifies order exceptions, misalignment with product rationalization strategy and opportunities to utilize existing inventory
Planning and scheduling order timelines to be consistent with customer requirements while minimizing inventory and shipping costs
Communicating frequently, proactively with customer service team to meet or exceed customer expectations and maintain up to date backlog status
Following escalation process of potential issues related with OTD, sales and productivity and support action plan for short and long term solutions
Working with the Product Line/Sales/Comm Ops to prioritize delivery dates as needed (push outs, pull-ins)
Performing various material management analysis such as statistical material consumption and forecasts, aged inventory and WIP, safety stock, etc.
Implementing inventory stocking strategies
Working to ensure new and repaired assets are captured with the Sales & Operations Planning process
Assisting in executing continuous improvement projects to maximize value.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have an associates' degree in Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience (2+ years experience)
Have experience in order management, inventory optimization and management
Have an intermediate understanding of SAP and MRP functionality
Have APICS Certification is Preferred
