Join our dynamic IT team at Vertekal as a Linux Systems Administrator. In this vital role, you will be integral to supporting, implementing, and maintaining mission-critical systems. This position involves managing a variety of Linux-based applications and servers, primarily focused on RedHat environments in AWS. You will be responsible for system configuration, deployment, and ongoing management, including systems hardening to enhance security. Responsibilities - Enable Digital Transformation

As a Linux Systems Administrator at Vertekal, you will play a crucial role in the backbone of the missions IT operations. Your expertise will ensure the robust and secure running of Enterprise systems, paving the way for innovative and efficient solutions. Responsibilities include:

• System Administration: Perform daily administration tasks on RedHat and other Linux-based operating systems which reside in AWS. Responsibilities include system installations, configuration, updates, maintenance and user management.
• System Hardening and Security: Enhance system security through proactive systems hardening and regular reviews of System Security Plans. Utilize tools such as Nessus for security scanning and patch management.
• Infrastructure Management: Manage IT system infrastructure used to support Enterprise Services. Responsibilities include managing and deploying virtual machines, containers, and standing up AWS infrastructure.
• Technical Leadership and Collaboration: Share your technical expertise and collaborate with team members to overcome challenges, develop new solutions, and improve existing methodologies. Your role as a technical leader will involve identifying opportunities to modernize and optimize the cloud infrastructure to better meet client needs.
• Documentation and Compliance: Regularly update technical documentation and ensure compliance with current industry standards and company policies. Participate in the creation and revision of System Security Plans.
