How a Linux System Administrator Will Make An Impact

  • Receives, logs, assigns, and follows up on customer incidents until resolved.
  • Provides initial end-user troubleshooting and escalates to systems administrators and applications team when required.
  • Applies basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Identify, investigate, resolve, and follow-up problems brought to the helpdesk by users of cloud infrastructure.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant AWS technology as assigned.
  • Documents work for leadership and updates/creates Standard Operating Procedures.

Education

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Master’s degree: additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of IT technical and customer-facing experience.
  • 5-10 years of customer-facing experience in a help desk or client support position
  • Security+ certification

Required Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, Oracle
  • Current Linux operating system certification or training

Security Clearance Level

  • Active or Interim Top-Secret Clearance
  • Fully adjudicated T5 clearance

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Requires the ability to work in a collaborative environment to troubleshoot and resolve problems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working remotely using AWS Cloud environment is preferred.
  • Navy personnel and modernization experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau and WSO2 applications is preferred.
