About this role As the Lead Artist at Digital Insight Games, you will be a pivotal member of our team, responsible for overseeing the production of UI and environment art assets and maintaining art schedules. You will ensure that our production processes are executed smoothly and lead the creative asset development in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. This role requires a blend of artistic talent, technical expertise and excels at building an excellent player experience.


In this role you will…

  • Conduct regular reviews, provide feedback and direct implementation to ensure the highest level of polish for both game mechanics and art assets.
  • Manage art assets, from concept to final implementation, ensuring they align with the game’s vision and technical requirements.
  • Identify art workflow issues, usability issues and asset issues in the Unreal Engine editor
  • Communicate with designers, artists and engineers to come up with solutions to these issues.
  • Develop and maintain tools to improve the art production pipeline, working closely with engineers to implement new features and technologies.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, developing their skills and providing growth opportunities.
  • Willing to be a hands on contributor.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in game art with at least one shipped title.
  • Demonstration of strong design fundamentals, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to create performance ready and visually appealing UI/Environment art.
  • Understanding of and experience with PBR Specular and/or PBR Metallic workflows.
  • Proficient in Unreal Engine and its associated tools including UMG, Materials and Niagara.
  • Proficient with standard industry tools like Maya, Adobe Suite, SubstancePhotoshop and Perforce.
  • Experience with blueprinting, HLSL nodes or other programming languages.
  • Knowledge of real-time graphics pipelines and their impact on performance.
  • Must be an avid gamer


Experience in any or all of the following areas is a plus

  • Lighting with Lumen.
  • UE5 UMG animations and widget blueprinting.
  • SFX creation, implementation and testing.
  • VFX creation with Niagara in UE5 or Houdini for fluid and smoke simulations.
