Must have CompTIA Security+ or any other IAT Level II DoD 8570 approved baseline certification
2+ years of experience as a Unix Systems Administrator or equivalent training.
Basic Unix Commands - Display the ability to traverse thru directories, files, and display the permissions/ownership of those locations.
Also needs to be able to modify, update, create, and delete files.
Ability to transfer files via sftp using WinSCP.
Need to be comfortable using Command Line Interface (CLI) and be able to complete tasks using it.
Scripting - Should be aware of the different scripting languages to ensure that there can be some automation of daily tasks. This skill will grow more while in the position.
Patching - Be aware of how to use basic yum and rpm commands to patch servers and to check package information and dependencies.
Networking - Understand and use basic networking troubleshooting tools. Such as, but not limited to, ping/netstat/ns lookup
Teamwork - Must be willing to take direction and instruction from senior team members and show a willingness to learn and take initiative.
