Team Introduction:

We are currently looking for an experienced professional to join the Global Policy Communications team as the Head of Policy Communications for the Americas. In this fast-paced role, you will develop communications strategies to help advance our public policy objectives in the region. We're looking for someone who has significant experience managing communications around complex legislative, regulatory, political, and crisis issues. The ideal candidate has excellent media relations skills, strong judgment, and experience managing a small communications team. You have a strong grasp of the political landscape in the region as it relates to both challenges and opportunities for technology companies. You are able to make decisions and move fast under pressure. You also know how to remove blockers and work cross-functionally to achieve alignment among internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to promote policy objectives, including proactive and reactive outreach.
  • Support strategies for engaging with and educating policymakers around issues important to our community.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media, industry, and other stakeholders to secure coverage and enhance visibility for our policy initiatives. Existing relationships with relevant members of the media is a big plus.
  • Prepare spokespeople for media interviews, regulatory meetings, and public appearances.
  • Work in close collaboration with public policy and legal teams, in particular, providing communications counsel and support, to ensure message accuracy and consistency.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Experience in policy communications, government affairs, advocacy, or related roles.
  • Deep understanding of and passion for technology policy.
  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful communication strategies to advance policy objectives and drive change.
  • Strong understanding of policy issues, political landscapes, and regulatory environments across the Americas, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear and compelling messages.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Established relationships with regional media.


Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in the technology sector.
  • Experience as a communicator in a government setting.

Job Information:

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is 154440 - 293760 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
