ROLE
The Head of Business Development role is responsible for the company’s business development, sales, and marketing aimed at maintaining and growing the US and global micro-display business for military, industrial, and medical markets. This role will lead, manage, and develop the business development team.
Create and execute the multi-year business development strategy.
Obtain market intelligence and competitive data for price positioning.
Identify and develop new business opportunities.
Expand the profile and reach of the company and its brands.
Track emerging markets and trends; research and identify new markets.
Meet the company's Sales Plan for orders.
Lead and manage the business development team.
Lead the team’s sales efforts, marketing efforts, and client relationship management.
Lead team on contract negotiation.
Lead team on all RFPs.
Manage key client relationships and work to build new ones.
Partner with Operations & R&D to develop broad regional strategies and specific country plans which will guide marketing efforts.
Build a high-performance team by developing existing talent and hiring and retaining strong talent.
Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors.
Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn't.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, master's degree a +.
At least 12 years of demonstrated success in business development.
At least 8+ years of experience leading and managing a business development team.
Salesforce proficiency required.
Contacts in the large consumer electronics companies a +.
Demonstrated success reflecting the ability to grow a business - required.
The position is customer facing, domestically and internationally; must understand operational requirements and material needs for wide audience of existing & potential customers.
Micro-display industry experience working with the U.S. Government highly preferred.
Extensive knowledge of the technology needs, market trends, and procurement practices of U.S. military and civilian agencies.
Previous experience supporting U.S. Government requirements.
Proven ability to work with U.S. military and civilian agencies to identify their requirements, develop and shape end-to-end solutions, and deliver relevant programs, services, and product offerings.
