Primary Purpose Of The Role

Reporting to the VP of Finance for the Foodservice Segment of Hoffmaster Group, the FP&A Manager, Foodservice Segment is responsible for (1) partnering with National Accounts and Distributor Development to grow net sales profitably and optimize financial results, (2) collaborating with the product innovation team to bring margin-enhancing new products to market, (3) delivering the segment forecast and budget to predict current year performance and support long-term strategic planning, and (4) leading and developing a high-performance team of financial analysts. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in FP&A, Operations, Commercial Finance, and New Product Development in a manufacturing environment. This individual must possess a passion for quality and analytical skills and be able to deliver excellent work and creative problem solving on their own initiative. The Finance Manager will draw on and further develop exceptional business acumen to challenge status quo results, expectations, strategy and processes.

This individual will be a key member of the Foodservice finance team and will especially partner with the Sales and Marketing leaders, the Commercial Finance Manager, the Customer Programs Finance Manager, and the Foodservice Plant Controllers to ensure sales, operations, and profit targets are met and exceeded.

Essential Job Duties

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to deliver winning business propositions that drive the annual and strategic goals of the company.
  • Develop and provide actionable insights to business leaders on a standard and ad hoc basis to include:
    • P&L variance analysis against PY, budget, and forecast
    • Pricing and commercial analysis to include scenario modeling, pricing review and analysis, customer profitability review, customer contract evaluation, and sales negotiation/bid analysis.
    • Partner with the VP of Finance – Foodservice Segment and their leadership team to develop and successfully implement an integrated business plan resulting in achievement of the annual and 2026 strategic forecast objectives of the segment.
    • Partner with the VP of Finance to produce and enhance the monthly forecast and annual budget, and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes for the Foodservice segment, along with providing direct analysis on key areas of performance to influence leadership decision-making.
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of business risks and opportunities. Ensure key macroeconomic internal and external factors are incorporated in the forecast and budget and support the executive team with multiple scenario views and options.
    • Develop financial summaries and analysis of the results. Initiate enhancements and quality improvements, identify cost-saving and growth opportunities, and provide meaningful information to influence key stakeholders.
    • Develop and lead a high-performance team of analysts, setting a vision of success, establishing objectives, strong coaching, training, and direction for the team, and providing timely, constructive feedback to enhance performance including annual performance evaluations of the team.
    • Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls and safeguards across Foodservice which reduce risk and ensure the elimination and prevention of financial deficiencies or material weaknesses.
    • Partner in monitoring and managing the quality of financial data systems through standard reporting, exception resolution, and validation processes.
    • Participate in the execution of strategic projects.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Required Skill/Abilities

    • Manufacturing company background is preferred
    • Large company matrix environment experience is preferred
    • Ability to take on complex and ambiguous problems, whether financial or otherwise, and solve them creatively
    • Willingness and ability to learn Hoffmaster’s business quickly and profoundly
    • Willingness and ability to challenge the status quo to optimize results and processes
    • Demonstrated professional approach and ambition to grow in career
    • Ability to build strong relationships, partner with various levels of management in all Hoffmaster Foodservice locations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly communicate complex financial concepts to multiple audiences
    • Strong business background, analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills
    • Strong focus on detail and the ability to handle complexity
    • Minimum Bachelors Degree required
    • 5-10 Years of related work experience
