About Our Client
I'm partnered with the Senior Director of Finance Operations at a global, billion dollar manufacturer of automotive products located near Deerfield. The company is growing through strategic acquisitions to grow their manufacturing footprint, and are now seeking to add on a Plant Controller/Finance Operations Manager to the team!
Reporting to the Director of Finance Operations and tons of visibility to the Senior Leaders, you will oversee all the finance operations of the company to manage the cost and inventory spend. You will also be working with the various manufacturing sites, partnering with Operations and the Procurement team to provide financial analytics and recommendations to ensure logical financial decisions are being made.
Job Description
Partner with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain team to provide financial analytics and cost saving initiatives
Implement process improvements to support all the cross-functional teams for budgeting/forecasting, and variance analysis
Drive cost saving initiatives by analyzing production cost, establishing internal controls, developing the annual operating plan, and more
Analyze transportation and freight expenses to minimize freight cost per unit for optimization
Provide financial insights and recommendations, and create financial models based on financial analysis to support key decision-making
Analyze material price variances to forecast
Oversee inventory to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Conduct physical inventory audits at the various manufacturing locations throughout the year
Manage cost saving reports to identify gaps and develop action plans with senior leadership
Prepare monthly and quarterly operation reviews
Support ad hoc projects for senior leaders as needed

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
Manufacturing industry experience
Experience working in a plant
7+ years of accounting & finance experience with a proven track record of success
Excellent costing and inventory accounting experience
CPA / MBA a plus
SAP experience a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
Ability to communicate with leadership clearly and precisely
Proven track record of process improvement initiatives
Willingness to travel within region
