Raw Materials Coordinator / Sr Coordinator / Manager

Seeking a dedicated Raw Materials Coordinator / Sr Coordinator / Manager who has a strong background in textiles & yarns. This role will collaborate closely with the Design and Product Development team to source materials across all product categories. This individual will manage the lifecycle of raw material development, ensuring seamless coordination from initial sourcing requests through to bulk standards handoff to Production. The Materials Coordinator / Sr Coordinator / Manager will be responsible for communication and follow up on all raw material details with our suppliers. The ideal candidate has the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow up skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

-Source materials for all categories including wovens, cut and sew, leather, denim, knitwear, evening, and swimwear -while being cognizant of MOQ, cost guidelines, surcharges & lead times

-Work closely with Design team on fabric selection process, ensuring mills are flexible with minimums and fabrics are within pricing parameters.

-Attend fabric shows and independent agent fairs seasonally

-Follow up with vendors to get all relevant information on selected articles – price, FDS, MOQ, proto yardage availability, greige yardage availability, etc

-Track receipt of all incoming headers, strike-offs, lab dips, sample yardage cuttings

-Submit all color standards /print artwork for lab-dips/strike-offs and track per T&A for receipt

-Prepare and lead seasonal strike-off/lab-dip review meeting to finalize sample yardage orders.

-Partner with the design team for approval/comments on all lab-dips/strike-offs and communicate all comments back to the mill

-Maintain seasonal fabric development calendar dates with design and overseas partners ensuring all material deadlines are met

-Place POs for all materials and handle daily fabric development follow-up

-Track seasonal fabric budget spending

-Submit invoices for payment and ensure mills who are holding goods for payment are urgently paid

-Allocate materials based on garment factory allocation and communicate daily with overseas factory on all material status.

-Troubleshoot quality issues/delays/transportation problems

-Maintain library of physical materials- headers, samples yardage cuttings, trim references, as well as seasonal fabric research.

-Finalize fabric approvals and comments with Design & Sales (handoff meeting) for Production preparation.

-Maintain sample yardage inventory at overseas factories to utilize for proto samples

-Assist with NY development & material sourcing (garment center) as needed

-Assist with Special Projects as needed

-Support launch of new product categories as needed

-Manage PD/Raw Materials intern’s day-to-day workload & provide learning opportunities

-Prepare international FedEx/DHL packages and create commercial invoices for packages to factories and mills


BRIDGE BETWEEN PD/PRODUCTION (LIAISON with PD/PROD ASSISTANT)

-Establish bulk standard and manage up until bulk approval.

-Partner with PD/PROD ASST to prepare and submit cuttings of fabric standards to the mills with bulk fabric PO’s

-Partner with PD/PROD ASST to request & update FDS/YDS for bulk orders. Callout discrepancies to PD/PROD MGRS.

-Partner with PD/PROD ASST, Design Team & Sales for approval/comments on all lab-dips/strike-offs and communicate all comments back to the mill

-Partner with PD/PROD ASST to submit cutting of bulk approval to factory as TT Approved Material Standard

-Partner with PD/PROD ASST to maintain library of bulk approvals

-Partner with PD/PROD ASST to maintain inventory chart & swatch library of fabric liabilities (sample yardage & bulk)

-Partner with PD/PROD ASST to enter & update all fabric, trim, sustainability information within the Season Product Knowledge Chart


PRODUCTION

-Support Prod Mgr in resolution of bulk quality issues.


PLM SYSTEM (RLM)

-Support transition of PD processes to RLM for future seasons, including the build of core and seasonal raw materials.


GENERAL

-Work cross-functionally with Design / PD / Tech / Prod teams & Sales / Marketing / PR / Social Media / Ecom / Logistic / Finance / Accounting teams as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Bachelor’s degree Fashion Design/Textiles or a related field of study.

-2-5 years experience in raw material sourcing in Women’s Contemporary designer brands.

-Computer skills- Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, RLM required

-Thorough knowledge of textile construction, fabric printing, dyeing, and finishing.

-Thorough understanding of product development seasonal lifecycle.

-Can proactively solve problems and effectively manage multiple challenges.

-Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

-Exceptional organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

- Excellent follow-up skills for daily mill and factory communication

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

-Fulltime. Annual Salary range $68,000-$90,000 with generous benefits package.

-Seeking Coordinator, Senior Coordinator, or Manager level candidate, commiserate with experience.

-Work type: Employees must have full-time IRL availability.
