Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, the Engineering Department Manager will be proactive, highly safety-conscious, and capable of leading and managing engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and utility departments. This role requires providing constant guidance, mentoring, and support to the team members.
Responsibilities
Assist in crafting and implementing an engineering strategy that aligns with business goals, emphasizing efficiency, quality, capability, and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
Initiate continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure all activities consider health, safety, environmental, and energy impacts, complying with ISO 14001 standards.
Maintain a safe operating environment and ensure all tasks comply with legislative, HSE, quality, and company standards.
Requirements
HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering field.
Proven experience in leading engineering teams within the manufacturing industry, with strong team-building skills.
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and ISO 14001.
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) at all organizational levels, internally and externally.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure role.
Self-motivated and capable of working proactively and independently.
Proficient in computer use.
