Job Title: Director of Production- Packaging and Engineering

Description
The Director of Brewing Operations is a regular, full-time, salaried position responsible for the overall performance of the packaging and engineering operations at Hendler Family Brewing. Primary focus will be placed on activities relating to the manufacturing process and productivity improvements in the areas of packaging, safety, quality assurance and engineering. The Director Packaging and Engineering will be a member of the leadership team and participate in the planning, development and execution of key business objectives and infrastructure projects associated with the overall brewery’s long-term and short-term business plans.
Essential Functions And Duties
Leadership and Management:
Provide direct supervision to the Packaging Manager, Plant Manager, and their respective teams
Foster a collaborative environment while setting clear priorities and managing time effectively in response to company demands
Packaging Line Optimization:
Lead the redesign and improvement of all aspects of the packaging line to maximize efficiency and quality control
Leverage a strong understanding of proper packaging line engineering principles to achieve these goals
Take full accountability for OEE by closely monitoring line availability, performance, and product quality
Implement strategies to reduce expenses and boost productivity across all product lines
Production & Maintenance Expertise:
Oversee all plant operations and maintenance activities for brewing, cellar, and hospitality equipment
Manage and prioritize projects, routine maintenance, and daily equipment upkeep
Possess a strong understanding of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other relevant trade skills
Safety & Employee Development:
Ensure all employees adhere to industry-standard health and safety guidelines
Motivate, support, and guide staff members to foster a positive and productive work environment
Qualifications:
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
Physical work includes climbing stairs, climbing into tanks, pulling hoses, etc
Brewery environment:
Conditions can run from wet, hot and cold conditions, depending on season
Ability to work in frequently loud environments
Ability/knowledge to safely work with chemicals present in the brewery
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and lift and/or move over 50 pounds with or without assistance
