We have an immediate opening for a Digital Content Specialist based in our Chicago Area offices. In this role you will manage and be responsible for data and assets in the Product Information Management (PIM) system and for syndicating rich, complete, consistent, and accurate product information across different business channels.


This role will be responsible for maintaining data quality, formatting, reviewing, centralizing, and organizing product content and digital assets in the PIM system. Data in the PIM will be distributed to B2B/B2C e-commerce applications as well as to select marketplaces and other channels that distribute Sloan products. You will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) throughout the organization including with IT, Product Line Management, Marketing Communications, Engineering, and Operations to establish product information workflows and consistency.


You will also create strategies to develop and enrich content to boost brand awareness and interest in Sloan products while ensuring content supports search engine optimization (SEO) goals, brand standards and guidelines, and legal compliance requirements. The role will conduct research and analysis of product information management, keeping abreast of the latest trends, producing presentations and PIM metric reports and showing progress of content creation, workflows, and quality of content.


Responsibilities Include

  • Creating and managing business rules, processes, and workflows directly in the PIM system to support standard product information management work and quality content improvements. Designing/defining requirements, outputs, and business rules within the selected PIM system.
  • Determining business needs and working cross-functionally with different departments including Product Line Management, Marketing Communications, IT, and Engineering to meet those needs in the Product Information System.
  • Integrating the Product Information Management system with the existing technological ecosystem (e.g., ERP and CRM). Determining and managing taxonomy, hierarchies, attributes, assets, and user privileges within the PIM system.
  • Works collaboratively as a data steward within teams to ensure clear understanding of business requirements that are managed in concert with product information management data.
  • Drives excellence and ensures continuous improvement in quality of data through cleansing and best practices for data construction
  • Defining, measuring, and reporting key performance indicators and metrics for product data quality
  • Working closely with product line managers, sales managers, and distribution partners to create appropriate models to distribute product content in different channels.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 3+ Years Experience working with Product Information Management (PIM) systems – InRiver, Salsify, Pimberly, or other similar platforms
  • Understanding of product taxonomy and schema best practices
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Motivated self-starter that works well independently as well as cross-functionally
  • Proficient level experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in manufacturing industry preferred and e-commerce channels
  • Flexible team player with ability to multi-task, function in a fast-paced environment under significant time pressure and successfully meet deadlines
  • Formal presentation skills
  • Fundamental management skills such as business acumen, leadership skills, negotiation skills, conceptual and analytical skills, extensive product knowledge, interpersonal effectiveness and decisiveness
  • Highly developed critical thinking skills and the ability to identify strategic trends
  • Identifies opportunities to gain efficiencies, automate, and improve data quality
  • Proficiency in utilizing PIM systems and related technologies, such as master data management (MDM), data integration, and data transformation
  • Strong understanding and capability to provide detailed long-term and short-term strategic planning.
  • Understanding of content optimization
