Associate World Director - skate.(Hybrid/Remote)

We are looking for an experienced Associate World Director to join the Skate team. You will report to the World Building Director.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for overseeing sections of the world, defining and scoping requirements and establishing detailed goals for your team.
  • Be a people manager for members of the world building team.
  • Contribute in daily reviews of world builder’s work, ensuring that world building best practices and guidelines are respected.
  • Work with the tech art and engineering teams to help establish performance and memory budgets to set achievable targets for world density.
  • Work closely with Level Designers to iterate on, and bring a level of believability and detail to the world while retaining the gameplay intentions.
  • Work with the World Building Director and Technical Art team to explore and test different methods for creating and laying out the world, including procedural layout tools and workflows.

Qualifications

  • 8+ Years Experience on Video Game Asset production teams
  • Experience in a senior/ lead environment artist role on at least 1 shipped console/PC titles.
  • Must have experience as a people manager on at least one project.
  • Strong knowledge of architecture, urban planning, and visual design.
  • Excellent sense of visual composition, form and color.
  • Experience with many different methods for creating a game world including modular systems and usage of procedural tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of how to manage content for games in an optimized and performant manner.
  • A degree in Fine Arts, Animation, Visual Design, or related diploma or certificate.

Compensation And Benefits

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):

º $122,400 - $176,300 USD Annually

  • New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):

º $115,700 - $176,300 USD Annually

  • Jersey City, NJ :

º $142,000 - $176,300 USD Annually

  • Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):

º $131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually

  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):

º $115,700 - $163,100 USD Annually

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):

º $107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
