Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing

Penta Search Group has been engaged by one of our Medical Device Manufacturing clients to identify an Associate Director of Strategic Sourcing - Direct Materials in Seattle, WA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead strategic sourcing efforts for all direct materials including, but not limited to, electronics, PCBAs, plastics, and other componentry.
• Lead a team of 5 sourcing professionals in formulating and executing sourcing strategies aligned with the 3-year Strategic Sourcing Strategy.
• Engage in negotiations resulting in agreements such as Master Supply/Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
• Direct internal, supplier, and cross-functional teams on improvement initiatives, value engineering, and optimization projects.
• Collaborate with QA RA Quality Engineering to arrange supplier business reviews/audits, focusing on commercial, financial, and technical aspects to maintain a resilient and efficient supply base with minimal Defects Per Million (DPM), on-time delivery, and optimal acquisition cost.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in a related field; MBA preferred. ISM or APICS certification preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain/Sourcing.
• 3+ years of managerial experience.
• Proficient in various aspects of sourcing, including negotiations, commodity-based materials management, project management, and commercial analysis.
