Position

Join our vibrant school community as an Art Teacher ! This role serves as an integral part of our school community with growth opportunities. This 3-day position instructs weekly art to PK-8th grade classrooms in addition to a weekly club special and supporting set design of performances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan weekly lessons for PreK-8 classrooms.
  • Nurture students' love for art.
  • Work with the team to order all supplies, materials, and equipment necessary
  • Utilize technology to facilitate instruction and enhance learning.
  • Develop a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters student motivation and achievement.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and fellow faculty members.
  • Create and deliver creative lessons that align with our curriculum, goals, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in various capacities, including planning, evaluating student growth, mentoring, and peer observations.
  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional leadership skills.
  • Contribute to fulfilling the school's mission to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
  • Greek-speaking is not required, but a plus!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Art teaching experience
  • Background check clearance
  • Capacity for self-reflection and engagement in a professional community committed to continued excellence
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships
  • Understanding of child development and the role of Social/Emotional learning in positive educational environments
  • Open-mindedness and a sense of humor
  • Empathy, organization, and compassion
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
