Salary: $2440 (lecture)-$3340 (studio) per class, per term

Location: Lakewood, Colorado or REMOTE

Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design seeks qualified applicants for positions for Animation Degrees. The department needs a talented artist capable of animation with traditional and digital mediums (Toon-Boom Harmony & Maya)

About the Department:

The Animation Department is focused not only upon creating artists that are well equipped to enter the industry but are also well rounded and have the sensibility to realize the vast array of potential their education will provide. Whether that is working at a studio or creating animations for projection mapping, animations for motion graphics, art installations, or creating animations for video games. RMCAD, at its roots, is a Fine Art college and in all programs. we foster students to take their craft wherever it is they would like to go.

The faculty in the Animation department are as diverse in experience as our students are in their passions. They are not limited to working solely in the industry. Some faculty have worked as stunt performers but are also animators (a good combination of skills), others have taken their skills into 3D to create digital sculptures of their creation for 3D printing. The faculty serve the purpose to educate and encourage students to think creatively and consider how their talents may be used in a vast array of creative ways.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Instructional Activities: the practice and art of teaching, including evaluation by students, supervisor(s), and self. Faculty must also comply with all administrative and classroom management policies, procedures and instructional deadlines.
  • Facilitate meaningful learning of curriculum, competencies and proactively support all facets of an inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, and ethics
  • Deliver instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes for student success
  • Hold regular, weekly office hours
  • Attend required training sessions and departmental meetings (additional compensation provided)
  • Regularly record class attendance in Faculty Portal and submit midterm/final grades by the due date specified.
  • Provide timely, periodic, and meaningful feedback to students on assignments and participation.
  • Successful completion of the online Faculty Certification Course, a two-week faculty online orientation and certification class administered through RMCAD’s Learning Management System.


Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have an MFA within the field and/or a BFA within the field and substantial industry experience.
  • Must reside in the greater Denver Metro Area or in remote in the following states (CO,CA,NY,NJ,AZ,FL)
  • Expertise in Toon Boom Harmony and/or Autodesk Maya
  • College-level teaching experience preferred
