Red Bull Paper Wings was the ultimate experiment in full-immersion brand marketing, executed to perfection by one of the world's most impressive companies. Competitors from 85 countries took part in the international paper plane world championships held in Salzburg, Austria, making it one of the most internationally attended events outside of the Olympics.

Having been awarded 'best overall event execution' for my Otago Paper Wings qualifier, I was appointed team manager of the New Zealand 'Paper Wings' team. In May 2013 I thus accompanied New Zealand's champion paper dart throwers to the incredible Red Bull Hanger One in Salzburg, we were treated the experience of a lifetime along with 400 other international competitors.

As team manager I was responsible for team PR, co-ordinating travel to and from Salzburg, and ultimately the representation of Red Bull New Zealand on the world stage. Show less

The Octagon Rail Jam was (officially) the biggest downtown 'rail jam' ski and snowboard event ever held in New Zealand by crowd volume (7000+ people at peak), sheer size of ramp (29m x 13m x 9.6m), number of competitors 90.

Taking over the Dunedin Octagon on the 20th of August 2011, The rail jam was an incredible spectacle for the city, featuring on channel 1 and 3 prime-time news nationwide, locally on channel 9 and on the front page of the Otago Daily Times.

As event director i drove this from concept to reality. Through the generosity of community funders including the Dunedin City Council, the incredible support of the 100% Pure NZ Winter Games, and our fantastic sponsors, we were able to keep this event completely free to the public.
