Extremely excited to see Women-Led Games on the Summer Game Fest website schedule alongside our friends LATIN AMERICAN GAMES SHOWCASE Wholesome Games and Glitch! I'll be honest... I didn't have this in my plans to happen this soon. Participating in something like Summer Game Fest seemed like a goal for 5 to 10 years down the line. I'm extremely grateful to Emily Bouchoc and Geoff Keighley for giving us the opportunity to show off all the amazing things women are doing in this industry. I'm also so so grateful to Ryan K. Rigney for introducing me to Geoff after interviewing me about Women-Led Games and seeing it's importance. Shout out to Matthew Taylor, the founder of Wholesome Games who has been a huge support and shares the same values and love for games that the Women-Led Games team does. Amaani Shams thank you for joining in on this crazy journey with me after meeting me at VentureBeat last year. I'm excited to get to planning more once we get a break from showcases for the year. 😆 And the biggest thanks to my bestie David Lucio for investing in WLG from the beginning and coming on as a producer. Working with you this past year on both WLG and LAGS has been the best time I've ever had in this industry and I can't wait to continue working with you to grow our showcases and support the underrepresented developers in the games industry. Excited for Disobey to sponsor the Women-Led Games Summer Game Fest Edition this year 👏 Charmaine Duff & Women-Led Games are doing SO MUCH good in our space & I am excited that we can support them 💚 I founded Disobey to level out the playing field. It annoyed me that the industry was run by men & let me feel it every time. It pissed me off to see how I was treated in game, in meetings, at events & even how I was spoken to via email. There are so many great men in the industry. This isn't an all men are bad post, but some pissed me off so much that I decided to start a business 😅 This way, I wasn't forced to work with shit people; this way, I can tell you where to go if you're rude to me & I get to empower women to do the same. Our mission has always been to change shit up. We want to set new standards & ensure we do our bit to make the industry a little bit better 💚 The future is bright for women in our industry. We will get there, slowly but surely 👊 Tune in on June 8th to watch some great games made by women!!
