Last week, I had the honor of participating in the inaugural Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Literary Event! It was a joy to discuss balancing book publishing with the demands of a legal career alongside some inspiring fellow lawyers.   A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and made the evening so energizing and memorable. California's Overarching Reproductive Law Project pushes for legal protections for attorneys involved in reproductive justice work, addressing ethical dilemmas post-Dobbs. The proposed legislation aims to shield lawyers from potential disciplinary action in restrictive states, with ORLP and Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA) advocating for a carve-out to protect legal conduct in California. Going to networking events can be daunting, especially if you attend solo. This is why I stress the importance of joining organizations, and for me, it was the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Golf League. On top of learning a new sport, I was able to meet some wonderful people so that when I attend future events, there is a high probability that I will see a familiar face. And that is what you see here. Wonderful people I met through the WLALA Golf League, sharing great moments and building connections that make networking events so much more enjoyable. Alston & Bird(ies)! Brooke Bolender, Samantha Burdick and I rounded out the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Golf League last weekend with a Par-3 scramble. When so many client-development events in this male-dominated profession are centered around golf, it is empowering to get out there, learn to play, and make connections with other female attorneys in Los Angeles. I am proud of my colleagues for joining me and honored to work with like-minded women like Brooke and Sam!

The Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA) hosted WLALAPalooza last week, featuring aerial artists, live music, a silent auction, food and cocktails, and a celebration of Dean Franita Tolson's historic appointment as the first Black dean and the first woman to lead USC's Gould School of Law in more than 40 years! #upstanding #outstanding Kahana Feld Partner and WLALA President-Elect & WLALA Foundation Vice President, Noelle M.
