When it comes to summer dressing, there’s nothing easier than throwing on an unfussy, coordinated outfit, which is why matching sets are currently a leading trend on the streets and in stores, spanning from mass market coords at Zara and MANGO to advanced contemporary market sets. Elevated sets uphold the pulled-together look of a suit without the formality or weight of one. Think matching solid or printed tops and bottoms à la pajamas as worn in seasonal white by Anne Hathaway last month in New York City; the matching black knit cardigan and shorts set Laura Harrier chose for the launch of her Reformation collaboration in L.A., or polished jacket alternatives like the tie-front floral top matched to a short skirt that Natalie Portman wore last week to promote her upcoming series “Lady in the Lake.” Retailers have seen major traction from the twofer trend, with Moda Operandi, Inc, NET-A-PORTER, Nordstrom, REVOLVE and more reinforcing matching sets as searchable categories on their e-commerce sites. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eYP7wz5c

Ulaanbaatar-based label Michel & Amazonka revealed athletes’ attire for the opening and closing ceremonies earlier this month, but they’ve garnered buzz across social media as recently as this week. Consisting of embroidered vests and caftans resembling Mongolian deels, Michel & Amazonka created four different looks: two for men and two for women. Flag bearers have their own special garb, with men wearing traditional pointed hats (buryat) and boots (gutals). See more of the uniforms here: https://lnkd.in/ecgMgGQb

You can’t deny Brunello Cucinelli’s enthusiasm in approaching and narrating whatever project he undertakes, and even more so with his latest, the unveiling of his namesake company’s new website based on artificial intelligence. So much so that, in a tongue-in-cheek moment, Cucinelli told the audience gathered at the Piccolo theater in Milan on Tuesday that assistants standing near the stage were ready to distribute smelling salts should anyone “feel faint seeing the beauty of the site.” Cucinelli was clearly in his element on stage, flanked by his daughter Carolina, his close friend and architect Massimo de Vico Fallani, and Francesco Bottigliero, chief of humanistic technology of the company. During the presentation he called the team of five engineers and mathematicians who created the platform of the new site to join him, as well as Francesco Milleri, chief executive officer of EssilorLuxottica, the brand’s eyewear licensee, who was a guest at the event and also embraced “the vision and hope that AI will improve the life of people.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eebbYbjW

Junya Watanabe and denim go way back — and the love affair seems to grow only stronger. His suave spring 2025 men’s collection, one of the highlights of the Paris season, was crafted with blue, black and white denim, but often in unexpected guises, especially tuxedo jackets painstakingly patchworked and paraded on a red carpet runway. WWD decided to take a deeper look at how the collection was realized, as it signaled how intensive research and development around a single fabric can produce an inventive, impactful show. La Bonne Brosse is out to reinvent the luxury hair care category — one brush at a time. The French brand, launched two-and-a-half years ago, opened last week its first boutique, on Paris’ Rue de Richelieu. “We wanted a space of our own,” said Flore des Robert, a brand cofounder, of the 380-square-foot location. She began La Bonne Brosse with Pauline Laurent, a friend from business school who is another seasoned beauty executive. “We felt that we could change — or shake a little bit — the rules of the market,” said Laurent. July 16, 1999, is a somber date in the Kennedy family history. It’s when John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, died in a plane crash off Martha’s Vineyard on their way to a family wedding. Bessette-Kennedy’s sister, Lauren Bessette, was also on the plane. Twenty-five years later, people haven’t stopped talking about them and their style continues to resonate. Of late, the svelte blond New Yorker has been the subject of two books, Sunita Kumar Nair’s “CBK: Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy: A Life in Fashion” and Elizabeth Beller’s “Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eSWz6ErA

Samsung Electronics may have cemented artificial intelligence’s place in a new frontier — namely the finger. The South Korean electronics giant is officially in the smart ring business now, with a debut wearable called Galaxy Ring that puts AI in jewelry form to power health and fitness monitoring. The company described the device as “a lightweight titanium frame that’s so comfortable, it’ll slot onto your finger with ease. The Galaxy Ring is water resistant for all-day use, in addition to a battery that lasts up to seven days. There are three built-in sensors that monitor your health around the clock, and the Galaxy AI analyses data to provide you with personalized health and sleep tips.” Read more here : https://lnkd.in/eSRnUA_8 Read more here :

Kering has promoted Ewa Abrams to president of its Americas division, effective Aug. 1. Abrams, general counsel of Kering Americas since 2018, succeeds Laurent Claquin following his recent appointment as group chief brand officer.  She will report to Jean-Marc Duplaix, who was named deputy chief executive officer in charge of operations and finance in a management shake-up last year that also saw Francesca Bellettini named deputy CEO in charge of brand development. Abrams takes on her new position as Kering implements turnaround efforts amid a global slowdown in spending on luxury goods. The group expects first-half operating profit to plummet by 40 to 45 percent year-over-year as Asian consumers shun its star brand Gucci. Read more here : https://lnkd.in/eFZ6C7CP
