Our newest intern, Aaron Stillitano, is shaping up to be a triple threat! He’s (1) a top-ranking competitive gamer; (2) a Track & Field star at the University of Pennsylvania; and (3) a budding Integrated Communications professional. While we certainly can’t catch up to him on the field, we can catch him in his down time playing everything from fighting games and RPGs, to FPS titles and roguelites. He’s excited to combine his passion for gaming with his career, and we’re delighted to welcome him aboard! #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG

Our Spotlight for June features the incomparable Colleen Nachtrieb, Creative Director of WB Games Boston! Across a storied career spanning two decades, Colleen first got her start as a 3D artist, and then quickly advanced to a Lead Game Designer supporting multiple AAA titles. While she has held many different roles and specialties in the games industry, a large portion of her experience focused on developing UX/UI designs – and it is her masterful skill with translating complex gaming systems into visually captivating moments that has helped to elevate one of her favorite titles at our studio, Game of Thrones: Conquest. “It has been an amazing journey supporting Game of Thrones: Conquest alongside a passionate team of developers and delighting fans of the series,” says Colleen. “From the introduction of the Heroes feature (which allows players to collect their favorite characters from the show) to the new ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 content rolling out now, there’s so much more to come!” She also adds that crafting new and exciting experiences for players is particularly enjoyable because, “everyone here is a storyteller”: “Warner Bros. Games has the vision to expand on the worlds of our IP with titles like Game of Thrones: Conquest and Hogwarts Legacy,” says Colleen. “We can also merge fan-favorite characters and different IP together in experiences like MultiVersus. We can do it all with support from our branches in publishing, marketing, content creation and licensing, because we are all part of Warner Bros. Discovery.” And even when Colleen is not working on our games, she likes to spend some of her down time in one of our worlds, often watching “Adventure Time” or “Scooby-Doo” with her son. While she humbly admits they aren’t terribly good at guessing whodunit, she helps write and produce mystery puzzles and escape rooms as well! (So…we’re convinced she’s actually a mastermind.) #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG

One thing about Yukun Peng is she has A LOT of hobbies: dollmaking, leather working, calligraphy – just to name a few. After earning multiple degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Entertainment Arts and Engineering, she now finds herself working as a Senior Technical Artist at WB Games / Avalanche . “I just like learning new things – YEAH, Ravenclaw!” she quips. “You never know when some of the random skills you have might come in handy one day.” (Truly words to live by!) Yukun says she “switches up” her interests quite often, but one thing that’s persisted since childhood is her love for Harry Potter. She first joined Avalanche as an intern during Hogwarts Legacy’s pre-production, and fondly recalls witnessing how the project was formed and grew into the no. 1 best-selling game of 2023 worldwide. “Shipping Hogwarts Legacy was a gift to my younger self,” she says. “My mom used to read me the books as bedtime stories and after watching the first movie in elementary school, I told all the adults that I was going to make Harry Potter movies in the States after I grew up.” While she admits she conveniently overlooked that the films were shot in the U.K., she loves where her career has taken her and describes her team at Avalanche like a “huge family.” “People really care about you as a person here and not just what you can do for work,” Yukun says. “Also, knowledge is shared across teams, people are always welcome to ask questions and colleagues help each other, even if you are not from the same studio.” #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG
