Today starts Smith Brothers Farms’ annual #DrinkPink campaign, where $1 of every quart of strawberry milk purchased through its home delivery service is donated to Fred Hutch. Smith Brothers run this annual campaign in honor of the Smith family matriarch, its employees and customers, and their families who have been affected by cancer. For Aaron Fields, a visual designer at Smith Bros and head of Drink Pink, the work is personal: In 2010, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma at Fred Hutch. He had just enough time to go home and pack some belongings before returning to start treatment that afternoon. “After getting that news,” he said, “I sat in the car and just thought, ‘Okay. I’m just going to do whatever it is that I need to do. I know this is not the end for me. I’m going to survive this, I’m going to live beyond this, I’m going to move through this.’” And move through it he did. Supported by his mother Clara every step of the way, Fields endured grueling chemotherapy, radiation and the intensive process of a blood stem cell transplant, finally receiving a clean bill of health after more than a year of treatment. Since 2014, Drink Pink has donated $133,810 to Fred Hutch, with more than $120,000 of that amount being donated since 2017 when Fields took over the program. Read more: https://bit.ly/44l2HC8

In partnership with Dairy Farmers of Washington, we pledged to donate one quart of milk to Food Lifeline for every quart of eggnog you purchased through our home delivery service from December 4-15. Together, we were able to donate 14,580 quarts of farm-fresh milk to Food Lifeline, which will go directly to our neighbors in need. Thank you, Eggnog Nation, for helping make the holiday season merry and bright! 🥛
