But remember: 👉 SF Fire Credit Union will never contact you directly to ask for personal and account information. 👉 Be wary of unexpected texts with 'activation codes'. 👉 Never share your PIN, full card number, Social Security Number, or date of birth. 👉 If you're suspicious, contact your financial institution directly to verify the call. On May 6th, 2024, SF Fire Credit Union hosted its semi-annual Shred Day event, providing members with a secure and convenient way to dispose of sensitive documents. The event was a huge success, with over 259 cars participating and a total of 16,000 pounds of documents shredded. By hosting this free event, SF Fire Credit Union not only helped its members protect their identities but also contributed to a more sustainable future. The 16,000 pounds of shredded documents will be recycled, saving: - 136 trees from being cut down - 56,000 gallons of water from being wasted - 8,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions from being released In addition to the environmental benefits, SF Fire Credit Union's Shred Day event also saved its members money. Professional shredding services can cost up to $30 per box, and with an average of 20 pounds of documents shredded per car, members saved an estimated $7,800 in shredding costs. #SFFireCU #ShredDay #Sustainability #MemberBenefits #CreditUnionDifference
