I had the honor and privilege of sharing Pathstone Partners knowledge and experience related to driving and scaling cost savings and margin improvement efforts for hospitals and health systems during the IDN Summit & Reverse Expo this past week. I have a strong belief that healthcare supply chain leaders and teams have the unique ability to drive significant value to their organizations if they can: 1) Build and cultivate strong informal networks with their customers to increase addressable opportunity and access new sources of value 2) Pursue a multi-value lever approach beyond price to diversify their approach to not only mitigate risks but gain more leverage 3) Recognize the importance of removing friction points that reside with people to deliver speed to value 4) Leverage a sequential approach to scale efforts along the adoption curve (“S-curve”) through building trust and communicating their value frequently to the organization It was my first time speaking at a large event - I’m sure I made some mistakes but it was such a great learning experience for me. I’m thankful for everyone that encouraged me to take the opportunity to share my experiences to a broader group.
