Munich Airport NJ LLC's Preflight Playlist, a music series of weekly live performances, is in full swing! Performances range from local DJs and internationally recognized operatic singers, to world-class modern instrumentalists, to Latin jazz performers. Yesterday, David Wong, modern violinist, delighted passengers with violin covers of popular songs. Here is a clip of his performance of Shape of You by Ed Sheeran!

Yesterday, MANJ celebrated Canada Day with performances from our very own Adwoa Asiedu at our Air Canada gates. As passengers boarded their flight to Toronto, and deplaned from Calgary, they were treated to a rendition of O Canada, which they stood for and sang along to. We are extremely proud of Adwoa and thankful to our Air Canada partners and Canadian passengers!

Last week, MANJ hosted the Xovis Airport Summit US at Newark Terminal A! We had a wonderful time learning about how airports across the continent use Xovis and we were honored to show off our Terminal. We would like to thank all of our attendees for coming, including Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Jacksonville International Airport, and Quito International Airport. We'd like to give a special thank you to our own Florian Kast for being a gracious host!

We are pleased to announce the installation of two new Kids Play Areas at Newark Terminal A! Munich Airport NJ LLC partnered with International Kids Concepts (IKC) to develop music and transportation themed areas. These areas feature various creative, brain-stimulating toys and designs for children to explore and learn from while they wait to board. We would like to give a special shoutout to MANJ's Ilinca Ford for her work on this project!

We would like to congratulate SSP America on their recent win at the Airports Council International - North America Business of Airports Conference! Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen + Bar located at Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal A won Best New National Brand Concept. We're extremely proud of our partners and look forward to winning more awards for our world class service!

This weekend, MANJ partnered with Delta Air Lines, The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and New Jersey State Police to celebrate several veterans who served our nation during the D-Day Invasion of World War 2. 4 WWII veterans arrived via NJ State Police escort to the terminal, where the PAPD Honor Guard and Pipe and Drum band were set up for brief ceremony and photo op before these heroes were brought down to the gate. Delta Airlines hosted a celebration at their gate. We are honored to have been a part of these celebrations and thank these veterans for their service to our country!

Last Thursday, Munich Airport NJ LLC hosted its Cosmic Cookout, in celebration of our recent 5 Star and World's Best New Terminal awards from Skytrax! Members from all of our Terminal staff ate a delicious barbecue meal, mingled with other teams, and cheered along as they were given shoutouts for their hard work throughout the day. Once again, we would like to thank all of the teams that made this 5 Star designation possible, including The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, Munich Airport International, Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, and United Airlines, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Master ConcessionAir, LLC, SSP America, Villa Restaurant Group, WHSmith, Hudson, Jackmont Hospitality Inc, VR Shah, Dirty Soles Footwear Group, LLC., Lisbon Cleaning Inc, ABM, Portland Design, Moment Factory,Nanolumens - LED Visualization Solutions, Electrosonic, our MANJ staff, and anyone else involved in helping this Terminal reach its full potential.

Last week, high school students from the Elizabeth School District had the opportunity to visit Newark Terminal A in a collaboration between MANJ and United Airlines. Students were given a tour of the terminal, received insight from members of the MANJ Operations team, and learned about career opportunities! We look forward to continuing to collaborate with United to provide guidance to local young minds.
