About us

The Kendall County Health Department’s first annual report; referred to as the Kendall County Nurse Report, was completed in 1965. In July of 1966, The Health Department was established through a resolution by the Board of Supervisors. In November of 1972, the voters of Kendall County passed a referendum which established the Board of Health current governing structure. In 1996, Community Action, the Health Department, and Human Services merged into one health services organization governed by the Board of Health. In 2007, the health department became accredited. In 2010, the health department received specific governance accreditation. The Kendall County Health Department has four units, each offering essential services and core functions in public health. The four units are entitled; Community Actions Services, Mental Health Services, Community Health Services, and Environmental Health Services. Emergency Response, Health Education, and Systems Improvement are integrated across the health department.
