Associate Spotlight: Will Eison, Intern - Office Engineer (University of Florida) "I have always had an interest in building and design as I grew up playing with Legos and watching my dad develop his residential construction company. As such, I went into my first year of college as an exploring engineering student and took a handful of classes in different disciplines. After that, I grew fond of the construction program and building engineering, so I declared my major as Construction Management – a decision that I will never regret."

Crews have started foundation work on the new passenger terminal, the project known as “Elevate BUR.” Site work on the new facility began in January, with opening of the terminal on track for October 2026. Superintendent Michael Headley from the project’s design-build team of HPTJV has this update from the construction site.

Associate Spotlight: Amanuel Shumuye, Intern - Office Engineer, Preconstruction (Georgia Institute of Technology) “I was interested in the construction industry because I loved watching HGTV growing up. I wanted to be like the Property Brothers and build beautiful homes.”

Congratulations, Jose Teran! Jose is a former intern and now a full-time Field Coordinator on one of our higher education projects. We are proud to have him on the team!

#Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is celebrated annually on June 19 and marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, nearly two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. In 2021, it became a federal holiday to recognize and honor the culture and achievements of African Americans.

Associate Spotlight: Lauren Otobor, Intern - Office Engineer, Sustainable Services (Georgia Institute of Technology) "In high school, I shadowed my neighbor who was a residential construction superintendent. What was supposed to be a school assignment turned into an eight-month-long internship with a residential construction firm. I fell in love with being on site all day and meeting skilled people who cared passionately about the project and the client’s needs."
