It’s Pride Month, a celebration of the sacrifices made and achievements gained by pioneers of the LGBTQ+ rights movement. It is also a fantastic opportunity to zoom in on the many things our queer employees contribute to our team. While the benefits of opting for an SMA strategy are numerous, we do know that this option requires additional education on the part of the advisor for their end clients. That’s why, in this week's newsletter, we’ve gathered all of our content on SMAs in one place to make that education easier. On this Juneteenth we are looking back and raising a glass to the incredible work of our Black affinity group Eth(n)ic. Since the group was founded in 2023, Morgan du Plessix and the have team organized: - Caribbean Night: A talk and dinner highlighting the cultures and cuisines of the Caribbean nations represented by our team. - Intersectionality Dinner: Asia & the Caribbean, a talk and dinner cohosted by Eth(n)ic and our AAPI affinity group around Asian influence within Caribbean cultures. - Career Quest: an open door career fair for the students of the CUNY Black Male Initiative. We look forward to continuing these fantastic events that educate our team, enrich our culture, and support communities of color.

A direct indexing strategy can be a powerful tool for investors, and we believe it's the next step in the evolution of managed assets. That’s why, this week, we’re breaking down 3 reasons why we opt for this strategy. 3️⃣ More opportunities for engagement through proxy voting. Unlike other strategies, direct indexing offers clients the option to directly exercise proxy voting rights if they choose to do so. Meaning, this strategy can offer additional avenues for impact, helping clients feel more engaged during their entire investment journey. For many advisors, providing a truly personalized end-to-end journey can be an extremely important differentiator. By offering detailed proxy reporting, advisors can help clients feel more connected with their portfolio, deepening relationships. To learn more about our approach to direct indexing and the future of investing, visit our Insights page. https://lnkd.in/e6F9kjBi

Assets in direct indexing strategies are expected to grow at an annualized rate of 12.3% over the next five years, faster than ETFs, mutual funds, or retail separate accounts, according to a 2022 report from Cerulli Associates. But why are we particularly excited about direct indexing at Ethic? This week we are breaking down some of the top advantages a direct indexing strategy can offer clients. 2️⃣ Direct indexing offers more efficient tax management capabilities. Because investors own the individual securities, they are able to freely sell stocks to serve tax needs by harvesting losses. This enables more efficient portfolios that serve both impact and financial goals. However, this strategy requires intense levels of data management. Firms need to track the individual tax slots of all securities within the SMA. Fortunately, Ethic's investing platform makes managing taxes simple by automating tax-loss harvesting and reporting clients’ tax benefits over time. Subscribe to our newsletter for continued insights into direct indexing and more. https://lnkd.in/eeMrjWkf
