A suburb of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, Overland Park was incorporated as a first-class city May 20, 1960 with a population of 28,085. Since then, the nationally recognized city has grown to more than 187,000 residents, making it the second most populous city in Kansas and metropolitan Kansas City. Overland Park has been named to numerous lists of "best cities," including the best cities to live, best best cities to find a job, best place to raise children, best city in which to retire, and best suburbs for millennials, among others.     Strong neighborhoods make a strong city! 🏅 Overland Park Neighborhood Programs staff Alissa Workman and Brenna Duffy and Beverly Estates neighborhood leader Colette Panchot recently brought home some prestigious awards from the Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) conference in Lubbock, TX. Alissa and Brenna won second place for Best Neighborhood Program, and Colette accepted the third place award for Beverly Estates for Neighborhood of the Year: Physical Revitalization or Beautification. The trio also used their expertise to lead a workshop called ““Neighbors in the Know: Lessons from Sustaining a Neighborhood Advisory Committee.” Congratulations to Alissa, Brenna, Colette and all involved for your dedication and hard work! Thank you for making Overland Park a wonderful place to call home! 🎉👏
