#CLTairport is gearing up for a busy Fourth of July holiday weekend, with record-breaking passenger numbers expected to surpass 2023 totals. From Tuesday, July 2, through Monday, July 8, the Airport is expecting approximately 191,000 local passengers departing Charlotte, a 15.6% uptick from the same period in 2023. In addition, CLT is forecasting a total passenger traffic of 1.18 million during this period, reflecting a 12% increase compared to last year. Attention American Airlines travelers: From July 9-21, all American Airlines ticket counters east of Checkpoint C will temporarily relocate for construction. Some counters will move outside to Door 2 on the Departures level, with four ticket counters and an additional four kiosks available. Give yourself plenty of time and arrive 2.5 hours early for domestic flights and 3.5 hours early for international flights. Additional signage and staff will help guide you. July 2 marks the 30th anniversary of the devastating USAir Flight 1016 crash near #CLTairport. Today and everyday, we honor and remember those who lost their lives. You can visit the Flight 1016 Memorial at the #CLToverlook, which features a Morse code tribute to the flight's originating airport Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) and CLT.

1992 → 2009 → 2024 If the new #CLToverlook entry sign looks familiar, that is because it is! This repurposed sign originally lived at the #CLTairport entrance on Josh Birmingham Parkway from 1992 to 2014. 👋 Today, the sign weclomes visitors to the newly opened CLT Overlook.
