Our Team Lead and Therapist for Integrated Care, Cydney Savage, has been a member of our organization for 20 years. “To me, Pride Month means opportunity, safety, and celebration. Coming out in the 80s, I struggled to find community until I moved to Philly, where I discovered it in pockets. My first Pride event showed me how many opportunities there were to connect and not feel alone. Holding my girlfriend's hand in public was a big deal then, providing immense comfort. Pride allowed me to breathe, sing, and dance, celebrating both myself and those around me. After all, aren't we all worth celebrating?” #CelebratePrideMonth #PrideMonth #AtlantiCare

🌟 It's Meet the Team Tuesday, Nurses edition! 🌟 👋🏼 Meet Casey Marienski, RN, BSN, CMSRN who has been with our team for nine years! Q: Who or what inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare? A: As a child, I spent a fair share of time at doctors’ appointments, inspiring me to enter the medical field and “give back”. As I became older, my mom encouraged me to enroll into nursing school. I applied to Stockton and was accepted into their RN BSN program and the rest was history. 📚 Q: Can you share a memorable experience you've had while working in healthcare? A: During the pandemic, taking care of patients with COVID who couldn’t see their loved ones and I was not able to see my friends or family. I will never forget the bond my coworkers and I formed. Doing everything together and for one another is what got us through that difficult time. 💙 Q: Do you have any specific interests or passions? A: I enjoy spending time outdoors! During summer you can find me at the beach with a good book or spending time with my boyfriend and two dogs. In the spring, my mom, sister and I maintain the turtle barrier fence that runs along Longport Blvd. Preventing the Diamondback terrapins from crossing the causeway in the busy summer traffic has become a passion project for myself and my family. 🐢 Q: How do you and your coworkers stay connected outside of the workplace? A: Even with our busy schedules, we try our best to get together once in a while for dinner, drinks or even a beach day. 🏖️ Q: What are your goals for the future, both professionally and personally? A: Professionally, I just finished class for an orthopedic certification, and I'll be sitting for the exam in the near future. Personally, I'd like to get reconnected with a local animal rescue as volunteering with rescue dogs is a passion of mine. 🐶 Q: What's the most valuable lesson you've learned from your experiences in healthcare? A: Enjoy life; as a healthcare worker I’ve seen a lot of illness and heartbreak. But I've also heard stories and met people that changed my outlook on life, encouraging me to strive for more, better myself and just live life to the fullest. 💞 We loved getting to know more about you Casey! We'll see you on the beach this summer! #MeetTheTeamTuesday #NursingSpotlight #AtlantiCare
