Alex Cross, the brilliant detective and forensic psychologist created by bestselling author James Patterson, is set to make his return to screens this fall. Prime Video has announced that its new series “Cross,” starring Aldis Hodge in the titular role, will premiere globally on November 14, 2023.
The eight-episode series, described as an “edgy, intense, and twisted thriller,” marks the character’s first screen appearance since 2012. Hodge, known for his recent role in “Black Adam,” follows in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman and Tyler Perry, who previously portrayed the iconic detective in film adaptations.
Ben Watkins, creator of the popular series “Burn Notice,” serves as showrunner and executive producer for “Cross.” The show promises to delve deep into the psyche of both criminals and victims, showcasing Alex Cross’s unique ability to identify and outmaneuver the killers he pursues.

Alan Ritchson, the star of Prime Video’s hit series “Reacher,” is set to showcase his versatility in a new action-packed revenge thriller, “Motor City.” The film, directed by Potsy Ponciroli, promises to present Ritchson in a role that diverges significantly from his portrayal of the ultra-confident Jack Reacher.
In “Motor City,” Ritchson will play John Miller, a wrongfully convicted Detroit mechanic who embarks on a brutal quest for vengeance against those who framed him. The actor recently shared glimpses of his physical transformation for the role on social media, revealing a dramatic departure from his “Reacher” persona. Ritchson’s new look features longer hair, a leaner physique, and even modified teeth, underlining his commitment to creating a distinct character.
“My goal is always to make a character as real for you as humanly possible,” Ritchson stated, emphasizing his dedication to the craft. “I refuse to play myself. You’ve...

Who will Anthony Michael Hall play in Reacher Season 3? “Ok, so I don’t want to get in trouble here,” Hall jokes in the video above, shot when when he visited the TV Insider office to promote Trigger Warning. “The character is Zachary Beck,” Hall shares. “And on the surface he’s like a wholesale rug dealer, but this guy’s living like The Great Gatsby or a mobster like no other.” And how dos Reacher get involved with Beck? Says Hall, “Reacher kind of saves his ass in the opening of Season 3, and that leads to them kind of striking up a friendship.” Hall was announced to be joining the series in February, alongside Sonya Cassidy (Lodge 49). Cassidy will play Susan Duffy, a DEA agent from Boston. The third season of Reacher is based on the book Persuader. Hall informs that the title refers to a type of gun.

Prime Video won’t be headed back to Outer Range.
The Amazon-owned streamer has canceled the series, which featured a blend of Western and sci-fi storytelling, after two seasons. The news comes not quite two months after the show’s second season premiered with a binge release.
Outer Range stars Josh Brolin as a Wyoming rancher who discovers a mysterious black void on his property, while also fighting to keep his land out of the hands of a rival family with whom he has a long-standing feud. Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, Olive Abercrombie and Will Patton also star.
Outer Range premiered on Prime Video in April 2022 and scored a season two pickup in October of that year. The series also changed showrunners at that time, with Charles Murray taking over for Zev Borow.

After Dean Winchester in Supernatural and Soldier Boy in The Boys, fans would love to see Jensen Ackles don the Batman role in James Gunn’s Dcu. Ackles has already given voice to the role in several direct-to-video DC animation projects, including Batman: The Long Halloween. My guest on 20 Questions this week is Anthony Michael Hall.
In his latest film, Trigger Warning, which is streaming on Netflix, Hall stars as a gang-boss villain opposite Jessica Alba’s Special Forces commander character as she sets out to investigate her father’s untimely death.
Hall shot to fame in the 1980s as a part of the fabled “Brat Pack,” starring in such films as National Lampoon’s Vacation, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Weird Science when he was only a teenager. When the term “Brat Pack” appeared in a 1985 New York magazine story by journalist David Blum, with Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe and Judd Nelson on the issue’s cover, Hall fell under that label’s umbrella with a group that included Andrew McCarthy, Molly Ringwald, Demi Moore and Ally Sheedy.

The long-awaited second season of the Prime Video series Reacher, developed by Nick Santora, has already aired, bringing fans a fresh dose of action to unpack. Based on Lee Child‘s popular Jack Reacher book series, the show has managed to capture the gritty atmosphere of the novels while adding its own unique spin. Season 1 gathered a lot of praise for its faithful adaptation and engaging storytelling, setting the bar high for the seasons to come. Although we’re well into Season 2, questions about the episode count and the story’s direction are still pretty hot. With the fast-paced nature of...

While DC has struggled to keep its interconnected live-action universe afloat, leading to the regime change back in late 2022, one thing that they’ve gotten right constantly is Batman. From Christian Bale in the 2000s to Ben Affleck in the 2010s and now Robert Pattinson in recent years, Batman has proven to be DC’s biggest cash cow over and over, and for good reason.
Considering how layered of a protagonist Bruce Wayne is, seeing different auteurs bringing in their own vision to the character is always fun, and fans are reasonably excited to see what the Dcu has stored. However, netizens have shared little interest in the idea of Hayden Christensen being the new caped crusader, who was recently asked about his verdict on playing Batman.

After five long years, Jessica Alba makes her triumphant feature film return with Netflix’s Trigger Warning. This is her first role since the ill-advised Killers Anonymous and her first onscreen role since the Bad Boys television spin-off, L.A.’s Finest (which was under the Spectrum Original banner, believe it or not). Yes, a lot has happened during the time Alba entertained the masses.
Yet, why does her triumphant return have to be Trigger Warning instead of Honey 2? Besides being in development hell for four years, this film is straight ripped from the genre that gives stars comebacks nowadays. It used to be horror, and now, the revenge thriller has been all the rage as of late.
The question is, will Alba’s film be the good (Reacher), the bad (think any Liam Neeson film from the past decade or two), or the ugly (Peppermint)?

A crime thriller is always a good idea when you are looking for something entertaining. What’s there not to like? But apparently, an investigation drama can equally turn you into a fan of the genre but also make you wish to forget everything you’ve seen. And sometimes shows manage to do both…

‘The Boys’ Season 4 Is Cruising to New Heights with a 21% Viewership Boost when Compared to Season 3
The fourth season of The Boys finally premiered on June 13, 2024, with the first three episodes of the series. We have reported about the initial critic reviews, which described the fourth season as more or less good, although the early scores were not as high as before. But, as the days passed, the season’s scores began improving, and we can now confirm that the season is Certified Fresh at 95%, which is amazing. But, while the critics are loving the series, the fans are seemingly review bombing it because of its content, as the season has a rotten audience score at just 50%, becoming the first season of the beloved series to score a rotten audience score.
The theory that the low audience scores are the result of review bombing is further corroborated by the fact that the season is enjoying a significant viewership boost when compared to Season 3, as Amazon has...

Tee recently starred alongside Nicole Kidman in the limited series “Expats,” directed by Lulu Wang for Prime Video. Up next, he will appear in Season 3 of Prime Video’s action series “Reacher” alongside star Alan Ritchson.

Season 4 of “The Boys” has made a strong debut, according to Amazon. The studio says that the new episodes achieved 21% more viewers in its first four days of streaming than Season 3’s launch reached in the same amount of time, though exact figures were not provided.
Amazon also notes that this the series’ fourth consecutive season of growth, putting it among the streamer’s five biggest TV seasons ever when measuring four days of premiere viewership. Isolating for solely returning seasons, “The Boys” Season 4 is Amazon’s second biggest, beat only by “Reacher’s” Season 2 debut in December.
60% of viewers were located outside of the U.S., Amazon says, with Brazil, the U.K. and India being major drivers of the show’s success. The season was Prime Video’s No. 1 title in 160 countries after four days.

The Recruit, The Diplomat and The Night Agent are about to be joined by The Envoy.
Lionsgate Television has optioned the rights to a June Vanity Fair story about the work of the U.S. special envoy for hostage affairs and is teaming with The Rookie showrunner Alexi Hawley to develop a scripted series titled The Envoy.
From Peabody-winning journalist Adam Ciralsky, the June story chronicled the work of Roger Carstens, the special presidential envoy for hostage affairs, as he and his colleagues work for the release of American hostages worldwide.
Hawley, who also runs Netflix’s The Recruit, will create the series with Ciralsky on board as an exec producer. The duo has teamed before for The Recruit, which is loosely based on Ciralsky’s previous work as a rookie lawyer who was recruited by the CIA. Hawley will exec produce via his Perfectman Pictures, alongside P3 Media’s Gene Klein.

Splinter Cell‘s been responsible for some of Ubisoft’s most iconic work, but the developer seems to have forgotten its impact and how even today, fans want the stealth adventures to continue. With the recent launch of XDefiant, a first-person shooter title that features some of the characters from the series, things were looking a little more hopeful for the community.
More than a decade after the last installment, the new entry was expected to get a trailer at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward, but it seems like the fanbase will have to wait a lot longer.

Several TV shows have lost beloved stars over the past month. However, the losses open the door for some possible returns in the future. That could happen with Chicago Med. According to the actor who played the role, a popular doctor who left the show two years ago could return.
Here is who might be coming back and what this could mean for Chicago Med.
Could Dr. Ethan Choi Return To Chicago Med?

There's something to be said for a first-season show where the struggle is real to find many negatives.
It's rare for a television series to have a perfect season, and we're certainly not going to say that Tracker Season 1 didn't have any flaws, but the show had a damn good start.
Justin Hartley was perfectly cast as reward seeker Colter Shaw, an independent man with a fractured family who devoted his life to travel, solitude, and helping to find missing people, sometimes even when they didn't necessarily want to be found.
The action drama was refreshing because it differed from the typical procedurals found everywhere else.
Tracker had cases of the week, but they were far from typical, and just the sheer fact that Colter took cases all over the country made for episodes that were wildly different from one week to the next.

Written by Michael Nilon and directed by Benjamin Brewer, this terrifying post-apocalyptic horror thriller premiered at South by Southwest this past March. It stars Nicolas Cage, Jaeden Martell, Maxwell Jenkins and Sadie Soverall.
In a near future where earth has been decimated by an undisclosed catastrophe, Paul (Cage) barely escapes alive from the city alongside his infant twin boys. Years later, Paul and his teenage sons Joseph (Martell) and Thomas (Jenkins) are living in a remote farmhouse miles away from their nearest neighbours at Rose Farm. During the day, the boys and their father work the land and gather provisions, but at night the threesome are under siege from killer creatures that roam the land.
The trio’s quotidian life of humdrum chores and trying to survive each night at a time, is thrown into chaos when Thomas, the more rebellious of the two brothers, fails to return before nightfall one evening.

Hi. Yes. Sorry to bother you. Hello. Do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior, Deborah Vance? The Emmy award-winning series "Hacks" has just finished its phenomenal third season, one that many fans (myself included) were terrified wouldn't be able to match the triumphant heights of season 2. The second season ended in a way that felt complete if Max were to have pulled the plug on the show, but after the absolutely dynamite season 3 finale, "Hacks" has proven itself as a series that can and should continue as long as stars Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder want to keep playing Deborah Vance and Ava Daniels, respectively.
It's exciting as a "Hacks" fan from the very start to see so many people finally catching onto what is arguably the best comedy show on TV that isn't "Abbott Elementary" or the not-really-a-comedy brilliance that is "The Bear," especially...

In the world of action heroes, Jack Reacher is arguably one of the most famous ones. Based on the fan-favorite crime thriller novel series by Lee Child, he has some really extreme characters in his saga, making it all the more interesting than ever before. That said, when it comes to the people who played him in live-action, there are only two names: Tom Cruise and Alan Ritchson.

While Cruise’s version of this action hero was undeniably pretty short, the six feet two inches tall towering Ritchson changed that through his embodiment of the character in the Prime Video series. However, when it comes to the height chart in this hero’s live-action franchise, then it seems that even Ritchson would look dwarfed as the series casts the world’s tallest bodybuilder in the show!
Warning: Contains Spoilers for the Reacher Series Ahead.

Fallout was still blowing all its streaming competition out of the water in its third week of release.
From April 22 to 28, the video game adaptation scored 1.5B viewing minutes across all eight episodes, according to Nielsen’s streaming report. While that was down a hefty billion minutes from the week before, it was pretty comfortably above basically everything else on streaming that week.
It’s now the only Prime Video series to ever be in the top spot on Nielsen’s streaming list three times, consecutively or otherwise. Not even mega-hit Reacher managed that.
Second and third place went to, shocker, Bluey and Grey’s Anatomy. Both reached over 1B viewing minutes once again.
Meanwhile, buzz for Baby Reindeer was still growing as the Netflix series saw a 36% boost in viewership to No. 5 overall (up from No. 9 the week prior) with 915M viewing minutes.

Unlike the big screen adaptation of Lee Child’s acclaimed novel, which saw Tom Cruise playing the titular character, the Amazon adaptation found a book-accurate actor for the series. Considering Jack Reacher’s 6.5 ft height is one of his most recognizable features from the books, Alan Ritchson, who stands at 6.3 ft, successfully embodied the intimidating nature of the character.
But despite being huge in size, in the upcoming season, it seems Jack Reacher is finally set to be humbled by Olivier Richters, who perfectly embodies Lee Child’s idea of Paulie in the books.

Reacher's back -- unfortunately, he's not alone. Author Lee Child's airport-paperback novel series famously stars a hero that can only be described as a walking, talking tank. Prime Video's "Reacher" series has neatly translated the franchise's popularity on the page to the streaming era, thanks in large part to Alan Ritchson (recently the scene-stealing star of Guy Ritchie's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare") as Jack Reacher. A far cry from Tom Cruise's capable (if not even remotely book-accurate) casting in the two movies, Ritchson embodies all the physicality described in the original books. After two successful seasons throughout the last few years, however, Reacher is due for his biggest challenge yet ... speaking extremely literally, of course.

The first season of Reacher became an unexpected hit – the adaptation of Lee Child's novels attracted viewers unfamiliar with the source material, as well as fans of the books who complained that the character previously played by Tom Cruise was far from what Child described.

DC Studios is developing Booster Gold as a TV series for Max. While rumours of production beginning imminently appear to be incorrect, it seems casting may be heating up as the Dcu readies itself for a superhero unlike any other.
In the comics, Mike Carter was a college football star in the 25th Century who ruined his career by wagering money on his own games. Forced to take a job as a security guard in the Metropolis Space Museum, he stole future tech to travel back in time and become a "superhero" (all while hoping to monetise being a good guy).
He'd later become a genuine time-travelling superhero and is a character who might be a game-changer for the Dcu. While casting such a complex character won't be easy, we have some suggestions which could do Booster justice both on streaming and in theaters.

Amazon has decided not to move forward with the Marvel live-action series, Silk: Spider Society, two years after green-lighting the project. The show, from producers Sony Pictures Television, was confirmed back in 2022 and was in the early stages of writing when Amazon pulled the plug on it.

Meanwhile, Prime Video has announced another series based on Marvel characters owned by Sony: Noir, starring Nicolas Cage.

Silk: Spider Society was said to be in the works for five years and was officially ordered in November 2022 for MGM+ and Prime Video.
Amazon has decided not to move forward with the Marvel live-action series, Silk: Spider Society, two years after green-lighting the project. The show, from producers Sony Pictures Television, was confirmed back in 2022 and was in the early stages of writing when Amazon pulled the plug on it.
The Walking Dead fame Angela Kang was attached to the series as the showrunner, whose deal with Amazon still remains in place as she will be working on other projects for the studio. Meanwhile, Prime Video has announced another series based on Marvel characters owned by Sony: Noir, starring Nicolas Cage.

We’re so used to TV shows releasing new seasons on a yearly basis that when it doesn’t happen, we feel almost insulted, don’t we? Most fans barely tolerate a couple of months in delay, but for Reacher’s audience, Alan Ritchson’s latest update on Season 3 will come as an even tougher blow.
Reacher Star Gives an Upsetting S3 Update
Recently, Alan Ritchson took to his Instagram to post a Stories post with a Reacher Season 3 announcement. Normally, that would have been great news — an official confirmation of your favorite show’s next series, what’s not to love here? But apparently, something went distinctly wrong with Reacher S3’s production.
“The biggest name in action hits again in 2025,” the now-expired Stories caption read. The most attentive fans might have already noticed the issue, but we’ll spell it out nonetheless: Reacher Season 3 was expected to arrive...

Hollywood actors had barely inked a new labor deal with major studios and streamers last November when the lights in Ontario film studios flickered on and local talent and technical crews eyed a quick return to work on American shoots.
But the homecoming for Hollywood after the grueling SAG-AFTRA strike has hardly gone as envisioned in the Canadian province, which is known for doubling for U.S. locales such as New York, Boston, and Georgia. According to Ontario production insiders, the province that once defied gravity as a booming production hub for Hollywood has come back down to earth, with production slower than expected and lower budgets on projects that are filming there.
“It’s been a slower ramp-up in business than most anticipated. But we’re starting to see a pretty good increase in business, especially in the past few weeks,” says Garin Josey, chief operating officer of Sunbelt Rentals Film & TV,...

The “Silk: Spider Society” live-action series has been scrapped at Amazon.
The show was originally greenlit in November 2022 in a deal with Sony Pictures Television to develop a suite of shows based on Marvel characters that Sony controls. It was meant to debut on the MGM+ linear channel domestically before a global launch on Prime Video.
“The Walking Dead” alum Angela Kang was onboard as executive producer and showrunner, with Kang also signing a multi-year overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios in the process. Kang will continue under that deal. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal were also executive producers on the series. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Sony will try to shop the series to other buyers.
It had been reported earlier in the year by The Ankler that Amazon had shutdown the writers’ room for “Silk,” with the writing staff released to pursue other work,...
